QUOTE(glamour @ Mar 23 2012, 05:07 PM) Some Racun !! You can't change others brand hub with fullcrum rim coz their rim is custom made just for their own hub.Even the spoke is different.Once rosak then you need to find back fullcrum hub.Chris King RM 1800 ++ Chosen Rm 600 ++ for sound...can check in Youtube.... Can add with this.. |

Fulcrums are 36pts. CK is 72pts. Yup... Half the engagement points for half the price. Fair deal?

Then again,
36 engagements, how many paws? 72 engagements, how many paws? I've got a few running i9 and seem like the bearing life is relatively low. none running with CK yet so far. |

QUOTE(s6xs9x @ Mar 24 2012, 11:42 AM) Then again, After keeping a set of CK which i have bought a year back, i decided to slapped it into my SX trail after replacing the 9mm axle with a 12mm axle. I was using a MVR which is a rebadged Chosen hubs before changing to the CK's. First impression, the sound is a real turn on if you happened to hear how a CK hub sounds like. It has 72 engagement compared to the MVR 36 engagement. Verdict, the 72 engagement hub is really draggy. I repeat draggy as though you are pulling a sandpaper on a smooth floor. The hubs doesn't coast very well on a flat trail. It will come to halt if you do not keep pedalling especially if you are looking for a breather to recover from a hard climb. One thing it does really well with 72 engagements is that it does engaged much quicker than a normal 24 or 36 hubs. Very good for steep and quick climbs but not so good for long extended climbs i.e twin peaks or lung buster. For downhill it is quite good if you are trying to spin out from a low gear as it engaged quickly but it does wear you out due to its resistance from the extra engagements. In terms of build, it is solid and precise and requires minimal maintenance. On a personal note, for trails like Kiara, 24 engagements is best or 36 engagements if you can find these hubs. CK's ie really suitable for XC rides in non technical terrain or flat fireroads with mild steep climbs. As for Kiara stick with Hope or other 24 engagements hubs. AS for me, i am now contemplating on returning to my trusty MVR hubs.36 engagements, how many paws? 72 engagements, how many paws? I've got a few running i9 and seem like the bearing life is relatively low. none running with CK yet so far. |
