Hi Bro,
I am using Time broadband for the past 4 years and having been hearing Fibre broadband is coming to my condo. I did check with one of the sales manager from Time 4 months ago, he said the Fibre network has been completed. Just want to know when it is going to launch in my area, i am staying in Taman Desa.

I think we might be staying in the same condo lol, time called me the other day saying Fiber will be ready next month, they have finished testing in tmn desa and one of their agents came to meet me and I submitted my application to him.

Yeah that's what Starhub informed me and asked that I get in touch with my own ISP to have them take action. I just sent another email to wecare@astro.com.my yesterday (3rd email I have sent regarding this issue) but it's still not resolved.

Here's the trace route result for 2nd Jan

and today's result.

I have never gotten 30-50ms pings on SEA servers ever since I switched to TIME. It has always been constant 70-80ms which I felt was odd since we are like next to each other. The last time I ever got pings below 50ms was when I was on Unifi.

EDIT: My first email sent regarding this issue was 23rd December 2013 to TIME's customer service email. The trace route result then was slightly different as there was an additional hop that routed the traffic to Japan before making it's way back to Singapore. Here's the trace route result which I copy and pasted in the email I sent.

It was then on around Christmas day that the routing was changed directly to Singapore but through the Seabone node.

I'm using Time ADSL and I have the exact same trace route as you. The damn seabone node has been very unstable since december. I thought of getting Time Fiber would give a better routing to singapore so I can finally get 30-50ms pings, but looking as your posts makes me hesitant now. blink.gif

I tested with my Time Astro IPTV at home and I have horrible pings as well. My ip address at work starts with 203.121  and at home 211.24. Perhaps the problem is ip related?

From my work connection.

Ping statistics for 203.117.155.133:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 59ms, Maximum = 60ms, Average = 59ms
*
Yeah you're right. I'm using Time ADSL and most of the time I get 203.*, and my ping is around ~70ms. Once in a while when I reboot my modem, I get the 211.*, the pings are horrible!

Kinda strange that you are using Time Fiber and are getting the same IP and pings as me, I don't know now if I should even bother to upgrade my line to fiber.. rclxub.gif

Looks like the latency issue at Seabone has been resolved. Back to normal 70-80ms ping. Wonder why that particular node always has such high latency.

Man, with your fiber line you also get 70-80ms ping, same with my adsl line. Doesn't sound right man..

Personally I have no complaints about TIME Fibre. The CS level is pretty good but I think it's being hampered in terms of response time due to the fact AstroIPTV customers will have to make a report with Astro first before TIME can act.
*
Well I've been using Time ADSL for 2 years in my condo, I would say it has been problem free 98% of the time. I've never needed to call CS, so can't comment on the CS level. Furthermore, my condo only has fiber from Maxis and Time just recently told me their fiber is ready for my condo, so its a pretty no-brainer that I will upgrade to Time Fiber tongue.gif

Finally got the call from Time to install my fiber line, which they have scheduled on the 26th of this month. Almost 2 months after I have made the application. Just hope no more delays again haha.

Hi Bro,

Your agent should have followed up for you. Anyway the delay was due to the reason I told you in PM.

Feel free to buzz me if you need any future help smile.gif

Cheers smile.gif

Thanks bro smile.gif

Btw just checking, would they pull the fiber into my unit (FTTH), or use the existing copper telephone line?

if you are talking about astro iptv internet service provided by Time... the boost is only 30mbps not 50mbps.

Nope not using astro, just Time 8Mbps package.
