Hi..I have an issue with my Astro/Time fibre connection - last night everything was fine and working, and when I woke up this morning, the LOS light was blinking red and PON light was off. I immediately called up the support number and logged a complaint. I was informed that a technician would call me up within 24-hours.

In the evening I called them up again to check and ask that I had not been contacted, and was informed that it was an "activation issue" at Time's end, and that there was nothing wrong with any of my equipment.

This being a Sunday, my hands are fully tied and I am dependent on their customer support. Would appreciate if anyone can provide any insight into whether this could be a cable issue or something at Time's end? The reason I ask is that I paid a large amount of money for cable pulling from the riser (90m away unfortunately), and if it does turn out to be a cable issue, I do not plan on paying for all the installation again.

Update on this. The first line support kept telling me it was some sort of "activation issue" at my end, and would be fixed Monday morning. I was skeptical about this, and I then got a call from one of the installers telling me he would come over to fix my problem on Tuesday morning.

I had to come to the office, and luckily my wife was able to stay home in the first half. The problem turned out to be a blown box in the condo riser which he fixed. The services are back now.

On a separate note, the router (Cisco E1200) seems to be absolute crap. I need to restart it every few hours, and the maximum uptime I have gotten from it is probably 12 hours or something. I wanted to know if we can use our own router with TIME? I have my eye on the Asus RT-AC68U, but waiting to save up some money. Appreciate any input or feedback on if this is a good combination.

Second, the "Boost" I seem to get is 30mb, whereas in some places it says 50mb. I have the 24mb package so I would hope to get 50mb, but not sure what the policy is?

I have a question for the Time gurus here:

There was recent groupon deal for Time + Astro, where they were giving packages at a slight discount. I signed over (basically because I was interested in HD channels) and had to terminate my contract with Unifi. Now, I have to pay them RM500. Am I eligible to claim the Unifi to TIME switch RM500? How can I go about doing that?
