true, even my Unifi cant get the full speed with single connection. I use FDM(FreeDownloadManager) an open source IDM alternative and has been getting full speed regardless of the ISP I am using. Jdownloader is another good open source alternative

I have tested this on my friend's Time connection and FDM is getting full speed as well. give it a try

i dont think he is, if I am not mistaken, he was using streamyx, then time, then switched to unifi. he is just giving his feedback. which is good, i hope that other residents in his area are not affected as well. personally, i am using Unifi as well, but might be changing to Time should i move to an apartment next year

this is because Time install their own cable. TM won the contract for HSBB a few years back. If Time wants to maximise their coverage, they can do it like Maxis and use TM's infra. but there is a pro and cons to it. it is very unlikely for Time to maintain their unlimited bandwith usage should they go for this method.

and the cost of laying the cable is pretty high, which is why they target dense area like high rise buildings and the likes. Which would ensure that they can maintain their current price and the unlimited bandwith.

p/s: i have no information on how Time really operates, and their business decision, but this is the explanation that i could think of. and no, i am not a Time's customer, i use unifi vip5 but would def jump ship to Time should the opportunity arise

are you talking about the 100Mbps package? they clearly put the quota in the info, and if there is not a market for that segment, they won't do it. it is a purely business decision, if the market is not there, they wont do it. i am not a time subscriber, i am using unifi, but i can understand why they provide the package, and i think the pricing is okay.

if you want a true unlimited package, just go for their unlimited package that goes up to 50Mbps , which is very fast as compared to unifi

they have la, contact their sales team. you can arrange for a corporate/enterprise package. the thing is, for most home users, unlimited quota at 50 mbps is fast enough. maybe down the line when there are better competition out there, time will provide higher bandwith for home users

looking at the high speed fibre broadband speed and price in Singapore(eg Singtel) and HK(HKBN etc), your jaws would drop. when would we see similar package in Malaysia? hmm

btw jjj2, what is the maximum speed per consumer/home user that Time can actually offer with the current equipment? must be higher than 100mbps right
