One thing I've learnt over many years as a TdC customer... don't bother with reports. They'll deal with it in their own time whether you report it or not!!! biggrin.gif
*
tdc has managed to listen to me on multiple occasions to alter uplink routing to my servers in australia. took them about 5 business days to route through vocus instead of telstra to one of my servers. if i were to make such a request on other isp, it wouldn't even be heard. as someone that has used multiple isp in different countries, this is as close to first world as it gets.

at bayan lepas penang.

will monitor later time
*
why not get an app to "monitor" for you instead of getting a single sample at a random time.

below is 6 hours of monitor with 16k samples (2 samples per sec)

Looks like congestion is happening at their core routers. It's expected with the curse of popularity. When a service is good and is oversubscribed due to its popularity, you can come to expect this.

Most ISPs will alleviate this problem only by buying more core routers/B-RAS.You are not suffering from very serious speed degradation issues aren't you?
*
funny that you mention about speed. looks like it is utter crap too

pinging 300ms to a local server over a 100% fibre network is a huge joke lol

if you run a service provider and unable to oversee the issue of over subscription and thus affecting all your subscribers, you're doing a pretty bad job. when you say most ISP, i guess you meant on a local scale.

3 hours graph time and i'm reaching 200ms to TdC's own servers...

even on a local scale my service is severely degraded, let alone on international servers....

Dear new TdC users,

This "issue" that their first customer facing routers are suffering from has been occuring since approximately 2008.

Go outside for a couple of hours and things will magically be fine when you get back.

Regards...

I contact TdC CS often and never had bad experience. Mostly by email and once in a while by phone. My experiences were pleasant most if the time.

Just curious. Even at condo have to do drilling?

Not like Unifi where they use the phone port to connect to the modem?
*
unifi is not pure fibre that is why. the phone socket uses a copper cable and not optic fibre cable.

Can you track your download quota?
*
there are apps out there to track/monitor your bandwidth. the best method of course to get your router to monitor your usage because it will monitor for every device that is connected to the network

If we use VPN, can improve latency issue?
*
QUOTE(jjj2 @ Mar 13 2013, 01:43 PM)
Hi Bro, VPN will coz some delays. You can try it out.
*
It depends where the vpn server is located and their international routing. I've used a vpn in sg to get higher bandwidth to the USA. Unfortunately time has only 4Mbps to USA unless parallel connection.
