If you interested how to get high quality video in small size, this guide may help

First of all, what the heck is encoding? 'encoding' term is same with 'transcoding' and 'convert'. It is only that 'convert' term is layman term for 'encode' or 'transcoding' so that's why all people only know 'convert' but not 'encode' or 'transcoding'

First follow this tutorial and read until step 3 for the setup. Go to x264.nl and download x264.exe [(64bit 8bit-depth) for 64bit system or (32bit 8bit-depth) for 32-bit system] file below encoder section. Go to your extracted Megui folder and browse to tools/x264. Replace the older x264 with newly downloaded x264.exe

Opening Megui for the first time maybe look intimidated but actually not laugh.gif Here is simple 5 steps to encode using x264.

1. Prepare for video process

3. In audio, for encoder settings, choose Nero AAC: NDAAC-HE-32Kbps

4. Click AutoEncode in bottom corner right of megui.

5. Go to Queue tab and click start. Get some coffee afterward cool2.gif

**Notes: There are various factor that may slow your encoding time.

1. Resolution: Higher resolution will consume more time than lower resolution. 848x480 resolution video consume less time than 1280x720 resolution video
2. Settings: As explained.
3. If your video has a lot of grains, it will take more time to encode it
4. Resize: Resizing will reduce your encoding time. Resizing 1280x720p to 704x400 take less time than resizing to 848x480 resolution of same video
5. Processor: Obvious reason smile.gif. Core i7 encode faster than Core i3.
6. Video duration: Longer video duration takes more time. 2hours video take more time to encode than 30minutes video
7. System Architecture: Using 64-bit of x264.exe on 64-bit system will encode faster than on 32-bit system.
