QUOTE(MaL @ Jan 17 2012, 01:21 AM) not sure if anyone here facing the same problem as me... my connection for android devices is slow on the wifi...but no problem with laptop....i saw some thread here saying changing the bandwith from 40mhz to 20mhz...i did tat but still the same... when using speedtest using those device...sumtime it's ok sumtime gets time out...same goes to surfing or anything else...sumtime even if can load will take long time n sumtime just time out....any of u here face the same thing as me but solved already?...care to share?... the router tat i got from TM is the one with the chipset RT3052-V1...any way i can flashed the firmware to ddwrt or some sorts?...cant even find any config to change the dns?...any guide is appreciated.. what is your phone model and what is your laptop model/spec. Your internet speed will depend on your phone spec. I got old LG smartphone and browsing the web is very slow. I also got another phone, dual-core phone, browsing the net is very fast (both connected to the same wifi).. I don't think mobile phone can beat pc/laptop in term of browsing speed due to the spec, but with smartphone nowadays, the browsing speed is getting better and more comfortable for users.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jan 25 2012, 02:13 PM) I getting my unifi this Friday just curious I want pull my network cable from box to my computer about 20mtrs. I will supply the cable anyone how much they will charge what cable? RJ45 (ethernet cable)? That one will solely depends on contractor. You need to nego. But if all that is needed is run the cable on the wall by nailing it using that cable holder, you better save your money and do it yourself.

QUOTE(Json188 @ Jan 30 2012, 02:42 AM) Just want to ask, since the BTU unit have 2 base phone line. Is there any chance we can connect and use 2 phone at the same time? If there's configuration need to be done, where should I do it? Or is it that I need to have another DECT phone to do so? The situation is that I have my normal phone from streamyx last time, I want to use it and place it in my room (since the BTU is in my room), and place the DECT phone in living room, any chance I can do so? Sorry to be a noob, seriously don't have any idea. i think, the second phone port is for another number (ie you apply 2 telephone lines). However, if you want to have two phone at the same time, you can just use a splitter like the pic below, or anything similar to that ..

QUOTE(SkyHermit @ Mar 19 2012, 04:57 AM) I have a question. How fast is Unifi (VIP5) Rm149 package? 6 of my friends and I plan to rent a new house and we always download and stream pps videos a lot. Do u think VIP5 will do? For me I don't think it will, I keep telling my friends that I want at least VIP10 or VIP20. They told me Unifi is very fast even though it is just VIP5. As I am using 4mbps streamyx now sharing with 9 people in a house, it is very slow, it takes more than 10 secs for facebook homepage to load well and for facebook pictures it also need around 7-8 secs for the pictures to become clearly. And sometimes I download something from file sharing websites it will interrupt at halfway. My current housemates are very pissed off with the internet here with the 4mbps we have now. But since I want to move out with 6 friends to a new house soon, we would like to subscribe unifi. Do you all think VIP5 is enough for us? 6 ppl who stream pps and download movie a lot? If not, what do you suggest? Another question. What would happen if you finish using the 60gb quota for VIP5? Can we still continue to surf the web? If yes, does it become slow? You can get the vip5. Later, if you feel you need more speed, you can easily upgrade to higher package. Currently, unifi still haven't impose any quota. Use as much as you want.. for now.

QUOTE(SkyHermit @ Mar 19 2012, 06:16 PM) Not sure if this is the signal problem or what. I am currently using 4mbps streamyx package and whenever i go to speedtest.net to scan the download speed is always between 1 to 2 mbps only. It never reach over 2mbps. I am using wifi now btw. So if I get VIP5, will my download speed around 2mbps only? been there, done that. I also subscribed streamyx 4Mbps before. The speed, just like you, most of the time, it's just between 1 to 2Mbps. After switching to unifi, the speed constantly above 4Mbps all the time.. Usually 4.5Mbps.. and sometime 5.5Mbps..
