QUOTE(DrBlueBox @ Jan 17 2012, 12:38 AM) HK/Japan/Taiwan is a highly frequent quake zone. But that is the nearest and cheapest way to the West as we can use existing cabling. Unless the ISP are willing to invest on a new cabling using an alternate/longer route, then there is nothing we can do Yea i agree.Pretty sux to be in Malaysia |

QUOTE(DrBlueBox @ Jan 17 2012, 01:17 AM) South East Asia you mean. But actually we have it better than countries like Australia where it's 70% more expensive to get an entry level broadband and they capped it much severely there due to the lack of bandwith available Countries like Australia etc are throwing away or increasing caps due to more cables being layed so it is getting better. As for us i do hope that broadband quality will continue to improve |

QUOTE You should be greatful becoz thee is no EARTHQUAKE IN MALAYSIA? No earthquake but got landslide and buildings still collapse etc.... Anyways since we are using fiber optic network we should be getting more speeds than 5/10/20.I dont mind if they limit international bandwidth. We should be getting faster speeds... |

QUOTE(investor @ Feb 5 2012, 08:55 PM) Got my installation on 04/02/2012 at high rise. Suppose installation only took less than 2 hours. The technician setup everything perfectly but the wireless router give problem almost 1 to 2 hours cos no internet connection. Technician go back downstairs to the STB room again to test. Everything seems perfect and up as per the technician. Wah can temporarily use other customer's password Go back up to my house to configure the wireless router again, but still no internet connection. The technician suspect my unifi password is wrong. Luckily he got other customers password used other customers to configure the router and it work. Damn the technician said !@#$%^$ to the TM back office who gave him wrong password. Now he asked me to temporary used other customer password(account) to use the internet first. Like that also can really Malaysia Boleh land. He said will fix it for me and come back tomorrow which is supposed today 05/02/2012. Wait wait until 6pm SMS me cannot fix and come to my house cos got emergency case outside. I said alright then since I got internet to use and mybill haven't start yet until my account is settled. Just that I still cannot use Hypp TV but got internet and telephone will be nice already. Hehehe. Hope the technician will come tomorrow to fix my account and setup everything perfectly with the Hypp TV too. Fingers crossed. |

QUOTE(MEngineer @ Mar 13 2012, 10:32 PM) Star newspaper today Bytz pull out. A small article saying that TM is not going to impose the cap anytime soon as long as they can support everybody yay! So if less people get unifi the better for those using no cap forever XD I would of course support no cap forever but if the dreaded day do come,i do hope for a few things like way way higher cap than 60GB(for vip5) and excess bandwidth we wouldn't need to pay an arm and a leg for it. Another way is to like do it in UK using some form of traffic management like caps only on peak hours and non-peak hours is free flow or other reasonable methods. One thing i don't understand is why biz5 which is rm199,which is only like rm50 more,no caps.Sometimes i really can't understand how they set prices... |

QUOTE(MEngineer @ Mar 14 2012, 10:09 AM) Biz package is for business use. So usually for business you can't cap as their usage is high. And the drawback is residential can't apply for biz package. So all residential area will always be capped once it starts. Yea residential can apply for biz packages.People in this thread had done so. It just weird that paying extra rm50 can get you unlimited/ummetered bandwidth. |

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ Mar 14 2012, 01:16 PM) Need to also look at what they don't get..free phone calls and IPTV. If one don't need these two bundles, one is free to convert to Biz package after contract is over. And get locked in 2 years contract again? Anyways tm is still not very clear about the caps issue. It is more like we will implement i like it and asking us to stfu. |
