Unifi subscribers are given a free TM Wifi ID.

Does it mean that we can log on to TM Wifi spots (previously streamyxzone) free of charge with our smartphones?

Anyone tried it before?

My friend on blockbuster streamyx deal got a free TM Wifi Id, and he says he could log into the streamyxzone FOC.
*
yes confirm i tried before it works. I am on UNIFI

I believe this question been asking here over and over again. Do the capped limit implemented?

I noticed that the sentence "shall not be imposed immediately" no longer in Unifi page.

*
dont worry when they start cap ppl will automatic go for astro broadband no cap limit

you cant judge signal like tat it depends on the location . For further coverage is best you upgrade your router like mine i change to ASUS RT56U now it cover until my neighbour house without issue when last time in my toilet no signal

Hi guys,

I was quoted RM1700 for installation due to the distance of distribution point. Is that even reasonable?
*
from what i heard thats between you and contractor even u choose not to pay they cant charge you. Nothing to do with TM.

I not sure about that but one case of my friend same issue they said the house too far fibre optic cable only pull till guard house after that they will charge accordingly. Then later the bill came the owner don't want to pay. Calls tm to complaint they said that's between customer and contractor. Until now haven't paid it cost rm4k due to the fibre optic.

That part my friend did before do all wiring path ready ask tm to pull accordingly and supply network cable and fibre optic paid labour only.

My case standard installation only so no extra charge.

Those case is actual happen.

Dad didnt want to pay and rushed them out for quoting us that ridiculous price, what am I suppose to do next? Im really frustrated with TM , waited 6 months for them to come first time telling me that they have a pole thats not being set up yet despite the availability of my address in their system. Waited 4 months and now this shit telling me that its too far away and i have to pay 1.7k for installation. Gosh
*
i learned this from my installation. Now i help my friend to help to plan for installation. you can do the same then get an external contractor or friend to do for you.

The path of installation usually same. The most important is the fibre optic cable from outside after the router you can customize how you want. if you wait for the TM contractor to come they will slaugther you kao kao.

if you plan to pull network cable then buy the cable ready its about RM30 - 25M then u let them charge you labour. The rest you supply.

You provide the path you get them to do termination and setting up only. They have devices to test the quality of the line and stuff so dont let them give u bull crap reasons.

Alternative you can get a good router like Asus RT56U and a 300mbps wireless adapter its as stable as wired for my test.

My case they quote me labour Rm150 + network cable RM5 per metre

TM contractor = Labour RM150 + 25M (RM125) = RM275 just to pull a 25M cable

External = labour RM100 + 25M network cable ( RM30) = RM130 just to pull a 25M cable.

If pulling a long network cable, it's better to get a Homeplug which no need labour charge, cheaper, plug & play & more tidy. biggrin.gif

depends on your house. Some house got 3phase doesnt work happen before. I still prefer network wire 100gbps lol. Remember its using a plug? if lightning strike what might happen?

Shouldn't have to key in DNS everytime. Your device should pick it up from the router. DHCP is on right? Make sure you're devices are configured to pickup both IP and DNS from DHCP.

Are you using DIR-615? If yes, for disconnection, one thing you can try is change Channel Width from 40 to 20Mhz. That will disable Channel Bonding which seems to cause probs with some devices. Also means that your max wifi-N speed will now be "150mbps". No more "300mbps".

Really envy those who ord surfing on their unifi.

My area still no unifi yet, not even land line ( as its a new housing area). I currently using p1, but the chicken feed data cap and unstable connection is killing me.

Is there anyway we can ask TM to come and lay down the fibers sooner?
*
Can u can get ppl around your area to apply unifi sure they would be glad to
