QUOTE(kembar4 @ Mar 5 2012, 12:47 AM) Anyone facing any slowdowns? Suddenly my speed went really bad. My unifi computer is in PJ while i am in seremban. RDPing to my unfi computer, i found that I couldn't even load Google / speedtest.net . Afraid that the bandwidth cap has been enforced? Added on March 5, 2012, 12:53 amEdit: Restarted the router and the speed is back up. Weird :S router hang sometime.

QUOTE(fazryle @ Mar 5 2012, 01:00 AM) router hang sometime. Usually if the router hangs, no connection will go through right? This is not the case. Because I am still connected to the main computer via RDP, everything is smooth RDP wise. Just that it doesn't load webpages as fast and torrent speeds were really low until the router was restarted. So this is a router's issue?

QUOTE(amirudin920927 @ Mar 4 2012, 06:22 PM) What the good aftermarket router for unifi with budget around RM100-RM200 MAX I recommend TPLink WR841ND (RM80 or less) or Mikrotik RB750GL (RM250 or less, no wifi). Using both in office and in home. Mikrotik also has a wifi router at the same price (with wifi but only 100mbit ports and 32mb ram) but struggling to get it to perform to my satisfaction. I think WR1043 should be a good choice too if you need GB Lan ports.

QUOTE(hairuLeZ @ Mar 4 2012, 08:37 PM) Guyz, I saw today a contractor (Maxis Broadband s/b) working on the fibre optic. Saw the sign stated more like "pemasangan gentian optik". Is the the unifi will come soon on my area? Basically what's the estimated duration that we can start subscribing the unifi? Thanks. Unifi is by TM U saw the contractors doing work for Maxis HSBB. Different providers.

Because I am still connected to the main computer via RDP, everything is smooth RDP wise. Just that it doesn't load webpages as fast and torrent speeds were really low until the router was restarted. So this is a router's issue? Could be router running low on memory or cpu usage too high. One symptom we sometimes see is the webgui is loading very slow. Happens to the DIR-615 quite often. Next time it happens, telnet in and check the mem/cpu usage. That should help you determine if it's a router prob. I think the DIR-615 has probs with memory leaks. My neighbor's unit needs rebooting at least once every month and they don't torrent, just typical usage for a family of 5. Out of curiosity, I just telnet into the DIR-615 and for some reason, xmldb was running at 97% CPU giving a load average of almost 1,1,1, i.e.: not good. Rebooted and it was back to normal.

So this is a router's issue? Yes router issue. Why not get a TPLink 841 since you quite heavy on torrents. Which means Maxis will have to lay their own infra to customers. Either via call in or OCC QUOTE(archonixm @ Mar 5 2012, 09:17 AM) Does anyone know how many days it take to upgrade package?
