So I live at Cheras Awana, at Taman Ceupacs there. The nearest gym is at Leisure Mall, which is Fitness First. I fear to go there because I heard Fitness First is expensive. Another thing is I would have to take bus to go there and come back. So there are gym fees and transportation fees. I am planning to do Stronglifts 5X5. And how much does the gym membership cause?
On the other hand, I am planning to make a home gym. I need only 3 things. A power cage, olympic bar with plates and a bench. And my budget is RM2500. But the problem is I do not know where the f*** to buy the equipment in our beloved country Malaysia. I only can find some stupid overpriced 10KG adjustable dumbbells anywhere I go.
So in the long run I am sure home gym is a better option. But where I can I get the equipments? And in the other hand, if I go to fitness first at leisure mall, how much does the membership cost. (I only need to use the free weights section). And is the gym crowded? Cause I hear people don't normally use the free weights, everyone is always using machines.

I think your home gym is going to cost more than that but my cousin make his own cage and all to save cost. Why do you seem like an anti-social?

It's only enough for you to buy a power cage. U can click my name, find my older post. I have posted a photo of my home gym. it cost me almost 5k but its worth it in the long run. Btw, i would like to sell my weight plates (decagonal shape, (2.5kg, 5kg, 10kg, 15kg 20 kg) x 2), PM me if you want.

No I mean both the home gym and gym option is expensive. Ok, nwrmine I will go for the gym option. So I would have to go to Fitness First at Leisure Mall since it's the most nearest from my place at Cheras Awana. So how much is it if I only wan to use the free weights?

Gym is much better IMO just the atmosphere and people are so friendly plus the equipment So anyway Last time i just started i choose to go leisure mall too but having the same situation as you the transportation fee and the membership fee. There's an gym rm4 for adult only can from pandan jaya lrt walk there if you don't mind the walking 10 minutes.

It is true. Weight plate aint cheap man. 5 buck per kg. For simple2 workout yes can use dumbell at home. Plus need alot of space if home gym. So better go to Gym and pay monthly fees. Try getho gym. It is better in term of environment. (For me la..)

Ok guys, I just need a gym that has a barbell, power cage, and a bench. That's all. And I live at Cheras Awana. So I would love a ghetto gym. And I'm sure it will be <RM 100. Fitness centre like Fitness First will just be a waste of money. I have no interest on treadmills, machines, and all that. BASIC set of dumbbells? No way man. I am not looking to do all that stupid isolations. I want to heavy compounds and gain some serious muscle and strength. Not do some bicep curls every other day. In other words, Stronglifts 5X5.
