EP = Electric Powered = Charge batteries, can play.

Nitro = Nitro powered (methanol, oil and nitro methane). Fill tank up, check batteries, tune, play
*

You want on-road or offroad? RM400-500 can get you decent set already.

For the stock battery, you can get about 5-10 minutes per charge.
*
hurm i'll prefer off road...its just same with my rm 80 monster truck if can only play 5-10 minutes..so what is the different for rm 400 EP AND with mine RM 80 TRUCK other than speed??

Upgradability, durability.

You CANNOT upgrade a toy grade. If anything breaks, then you have to throw it away. On a hobby grade, if one part breaks, you still can look for spare parts. Also, some cars have the option of aftermarket parts.

hurmm ok ...thanks for ur reply sifu....gonna start survey my 1st EP set...huhuhuhu

first of all

BRUSHED OR BRUSHLESS -  start with brushed motor jz so u can familiar with the speed and orientation. once u can control, u may upgrade later.
NITRO OR EP -  EP for start cz easier to maintain. Nitro u will need alot of tuning and harder to maintain.

friendly advice: avoid HSP brand if u may cz this brand not so tough. get this instead if u serious in this hobby.

better yet, make survey online on available brand that suit ur budget:

MyRC Station
RC Dreamz
rcsmart
DRC Toys
MyMegaStation
FGM Toys

jz my 2 cent.
*
i've already mae the payment for it (my mega station)...i think im not so serious just wanna have it for fun and for collections...myabe im gonna 'spam' this thread searching for spare parts...huhu

You will need to stock up on spur and pinion gears, a-arms, bodyshells, tires, hinge pins.

also, a new servo if your budget allows. stock one is lousy.
*
ok...so which part is a must...where shud i order those parts u told....how much will it cost me??

Parts, you can check for the manual, and megastation carries most of the parts, albeit a bit more expensive.

being a brushless, it is highly recommended to upgrade to lipo batteries and a balance charger. the stock nimh just wont cut it. do let me know if you need any lipo batteries.

In fact, if you need any upgrades, from motor, ESC, servo, batteries, receiver etc, drop me a PM. i can sort things out for you wink.gif

update : my bronto (or what it used to be) had a bad attitude. it kept bending rear dogbones. and the front steering knuckles wear out bloody fast as well. just some things to keep note of. the dogbones issue is caused by the fact that the suspension does not full bottom out when the suspension is fully compressed, thus straining the dogbones in the cups. also, be careful if you plan to upgrade to CVDs, as I have somehow managed to snap BOTH in half.

another update : do NOT upgrade to aluminum unless of utmost importance. shock has to be transferred to the weakest spot, and HSP aluminum is CRAP. keep it in stock plastic form to be safe.

important update : depending on where you play, you will want to seal up the pinion and spur cover with blu-tak, or else sand will eat up your pinion gear like mad. i've experienced this before countless times. silly HSP

ok thanks....will get back to u if i need anything heheh thanks

It'll suffer a lot in a crash. Little to no plastic parts means more stress on aluminium parts.

yeahh u r right....seem like its really stiff n not flexible...

Upgrade to 2S lipo battery. >4000mAH 30C should be sufficient.

Also, a balance charger. For beginners, get the iMax B6

The C rating does not matter. Higher C means you get better punch.
