Did any local store bring this in ? So far i found one selling in lazada and hopefully still there when I have the budget.

Kinda interested in getting one, though not sure where to start a RC hobby.

Or is there other alternative to tamiya ?

The only and my favorite place to find rally car like this is at this R/C website at hong kong:  https://www.rcmart.com/Car-Kits/RC-Rally-Car
I bought lots of RC stuff at this website. They have that "Team Associates 1/10 Apex2 Sport A550 4WD" as you mentioned above but such brand quite expensive cost double and triple of Tamiya.  I prefer Tamiya for aesthetic looks and great budget for starter, plus easy to upgrade with existing parts in the market.

Thanks.

However I asked around for abit, and watched some youtube, I decided to go with the assembling kit route.

Wanting to start next year, I am using the LC Racing PTG 2R chassis as a start.

However i still have a nagging feeling that I like that tamiya MF01x, but i am not sure how durable they are.

LC Racing PTG 2R chassis is a great performance racing chassis, smooth suspension lingkage, low CG and great cornering handling at high speed. For Tamiya MF01x durable enough for scale/stock driving but not for bashing or serious competition racer, just like TL01 form factor not so good at high speed cornering, will have chassis flex a it and suspension arm can be a bit rough to tune in. The pros is the gears are encase away from dirt thus which makes it a good dirt rally car. If your in for scale show car style driving Tamiya is good enough.  For serious racing i'll put Tamiya body shell on LC Racing PTG 2R chassis.  thumbsup.gif

Thanks for the infos. notworthy.gif

The main reason i want to go non tamiya DIY route is due to lack of space in my room. What I have in mind is one chassis + various body shells at 1/10. Granted the body shells might stack up in the end but at least I will only worry about where to arrange the shells. It doesn't help that I can hardly find any shell, especially rally theme body shells, for the tamiya M chassis, or specifically for MF01X, or maybe my google-fu isn't good enough.

But eh who knows, I might change my mind again as 2024 comes along.

Thanks again.

The rally VW bug looks so cool. I'm tempted to get it.
Actually any car body with the correct wheelbase can work (to a certain extent) no?

i believe your googling has not complete yet haha. I'm struggling to choose between 58650 VW Beetle rally, BBX and lunch box. But I'm likely to get the BBX as my next Tamiya. I plan to get it next Feb when I will visit Osaka.

Nice, good luck in your building. For now I will buy part by part, with chassis being last cause high price. sweat.gif

Saw it in lazada as well, and i think it's a different seller as it is RM100 more, discounted from Rm800.
