A toy shop called Pen Marketing or something out in Kepong. Saw their ad on Mudah, it was either the HSP Hammer (basically a Pangolin with a black Jeep body) for RM550 or this one for RM650.

Gotta admit, the urge to mod is insane. SupermotoXL was right... a RM650 crawler will quickly cost RM1K in no time at all.

Oh yeah, I saw that ad on Mudah. Look way better than the original HSP one. Probably RGT is "luxury" version of HSP.

The Hsp 1/24 Rgt Rock Scale Crawler look good too for mini RC.

Got my RGT 18000 Rock Hammer last weekend. This thing weighs almost 3kg stock and will climb like a champ straight out of the box. The star of the show is definitely the beefy 6-pc vertical plates chassis that has so many mounting holes it begs to be modded.

It looks like SCX10 tranny & axles might fit, who knows?

My biggest gripe is that it turns like a barge and the stock TX could be better. Removing the front axle screws gains 2mm extra travel for the steering linkage, which helps but isn't a practical long term bodge.

Congrats on your new crawler, this one looks scale and better looks than HSP pangolin. Many mounting holes allows you to configure various suspension performance and also put new body shells like jeep, land cruiser, bronco and etc. Put cool mods like LED foglights, winch, custom painted body panels will make it looks scale. About steering turns like a barge is normal on all serious performance rock crawler due to lock/semi locked differential axle, it will shine better when it crawls over serious rocks, roots and jungle trails where it can turn much sharper. rclxms.gif cool2.gif drool.gif

Couldn't help it, tangan gatal...

Yep, looks like this honkin' metal frame will take scale bodies with minimal fuss.

Gearbox mounting holes are different than SCX10 ones by just a few mm. 87T main spur is plastic, it will be the first to be upgraded. Will split the gearbox later to add lithium grease as I suspect it's bone dry in there.

My budget rc drift project begin. I got 2nd hand parts yesterday & installed last night. I just realised that the hsp rc car have slightly different chassis than their off-road vehicles but I managed to fit the front bumper. However I may need to adjust it if I mod the steering for more steering angle.

It's not tamiya because if you look carefully it is SUBAPU. biggrin.gif There also NASSAN bodyshell but I like blue colour of SUBAPU.

The cutout for the wheels are not properly aligned with hsp wheels. I had to trim them. Is the hsp off road (buggy & monster truck) looks scale?

Just pick up a permanent colored marker and strike a line under the "P" into "R" then you get a legit rally scaler. smile.gif

Do 3100kv is enough for drift or I should replace it with 4000kv motor? Also the drift angle much easier to maintain with locked rear drift right? Currently not lock yet & the car tend to get out of a drift. Also I'm noob which one of the reason. biggrin.gif I should lock the rear diff before messing with the gears (ratio) right?

If your gearing is stock then 4000kv motor is the right one. You can get tip from rcgroups forum here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread....od-for-drifting

Thanks. I'll swap with hobbywing max 10 + 4000kv combo in my buggy. The 3100kv motor more suitable for off road anyway.

Hey guys, I got a set of dual rate 120mm shocks (the kind with 2 springs per shock).

Where can I get some softer springs so that I can dial in some droop/sag?

Preferably a physical shop, coz I'll probably need to manually compare the spring rates.

Last time was interested in this ORLANDOO OH32A03 Land Rover Defender crawler, but the price was too expansive for me. Looking forward for your build.

I don't think the ORLANDOO stuff price going down yet because i've been monitoring their price it seems to go up at random times from several online store. This year it seems more malaysian crawler getting this micro crawler especially the Pajero and Defender in FB community.

Btw some progress on my build.

The F150 model is not sponsored because its from hobbyking.com so i got $15 by digging hidden stuff and deals. You should try go to hobbyking.com because their surprise deals sometimes randomly daily. For Banggood deal or no deal the price still the same but shipping cheap. For sponsorhip Banggod at first wanted to throw drone stuff at me but i don't like it since i don't fly my drone often, so i hand pick what i like for review. So i got few Orlandoos and stuff. Btw another extra Orlandoo arrived again, not sure why they sent some more...hehehe..the more the merrier. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif thumbup.gif This time i'll paint the new ones in blue or red color.
