Hey,

Sorry I'm not too sure what's the procedure to retake STPM but I suggest calling Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia or Kementerian Pelajaran Tinggi. They would have customer service or helpline that would answer your queries.

What stream are you in and what subjects do you need to retake?

i not resit stpm , but took it as a private candidate.u don't have to go to college to resit , just register for the exam with MPM, then they will assign you a school within the district you register to took the exam during the examination time , i think you can take it this year because usually deadline for private candidate to register is april 1.

Paper 4 is for science subject only ( physics/chemistry/bio), paper 4 is hard to find because it cannot be took out from the examination hall , MPM will collect it back , but you still can find it in the market , although very rare, but still possible. (past year paper 4 is pretty much useless , it is just for you to familiar for the format only ,MPM is not bound by the syllabus when setting question for paper 4 which literally means everything can comes out, just my 2cents)

My advice for you on Paper 4, you need to prepare everything. Just like steward ling stated, they can ask ANYTHING. Last year Biology paper 4, they asked heart's descriptions and functions. Chemistry more on calculations.

i resit stpm last year. not so sure about this year's syllabus.
check the dateline for private candidate registration at mpm's website.
yes if you registered b4 the dateline u can take the exam tis year.
if u miss it, i ll suggest that u take foundation or diploma as it is faster. not need to wait for another year.
for paper 4, it's like structure question in ur paper 2. they never required u to write out the whole experiment as in paper 3 in spm.

hope tis helps tongue.gif

The new modular system is only for lower six this year as said by MPM. so maybe private candidate who wish to take stpm again this year, would follow the old syllabus.

offtopic : the new modular system is more tough. PA now has 3 papers. Not 2 anymore.

Err retake only one subject? I have never heard of that you can retake only one subject for STPM, you might be mistaken with SPM. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yes, if you retake this year, you will only enter public uni next year. Don't worry about the age gap! Just do well for this year STPM (if you are retaking). smile.gif
