I also received a letter for a free check at any Eon/Proton SC. Sent to EON Malacca to check.? They (Eon Sc) said they changed some bushing? Dunno real or bluff one? Anyway, I think all FL/FLX comes with a tak tak tak sound when slow braking in the rear. Sent to claim, spent 5 hours and still the sound exists! Very irritating! |

QUOTE(foo0110 @ Jan 20 2012, 10:39 AM) Guys, not sure this is a good place to ask, but anyhow, I just done my 1k service, change engine oil to sytium 1000 15w/50 (fully syn). But i'm curious how long can it last until the next oil change, anyone can know? The SC would indicate on the sticker. If they put 5k you suck thumb have to go back 5k.... We are at their mercy.... So better just pun SS EO. Waste so much money for FS EO. Then change only 5k....Thanks! |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Jan 23 2012, 05:22 PM) no need to use proton coolant I totally recommend Original Toyota Coolant! My Suzuki ERV had radiator temperature and rust problem, after using Toyota Coolant (the first few cycles - flush, refill with TC, use 2 weeks, rust reduce 25%, repeat flush, refill and use 2 weeks cycle, rust reduce 75%. After the third time, until now, my radiator became rust free thus temperature stabilised! Very good stuff! But must make sure original. I am sure such good stuff got imitations out there.there are many alternatives out there there are 3 better alternatives that i know of.. 1.peregrine 2.forged racing coolant 3.toyota coolant all these 3 are better than proton coolant...proton coolant is best change every 20k, the 3 above can last 2 years and all 4 coolant will need to add water...ratio is 1:1...unless proton one already added with water Unless my Saga still in Warranty, I will not use Proton Coolant. I will reuse Toyota Coolant! Added on January 24, 2012, 10:04 am QUOTE(ericmaxman @ Jan 23 2012, 10:33 PM) Aiyoh, for nothing kena flame! Ha ha ha ! Eric you joker man! QUOTE(koh_424 @ Jan 26 2012, 09:34 AM) My car not yet 1yr my big boss already asked me go outside service la. Oh, but stupid or not, we pay our hard earned money to buy the car new. Warranty must exercise all the way. Now I found out the steering wheel left horn button not working. 10times press only 1 time horn sound??! Right side button okay!He said tis cheap car dun need stewpiak Proton warranty. Summore he said SC charge quite expensive. So i dun talk bout warranty all the time. Coz many outside workshop also can solve the car problem for me. So my 5,000km service, claim my warranty on this and the irritating Tak Tak Tak sound from rear brakes(still not rectified this time, I will DEMAND change of rear brakes! If not I will complain all the way to Proton MD since he very service orientated!) |

QUOTE(koh_424 @ Jan 26 2012, 09:39 AM) Good one there! My personal experience, drive long distance with this crappy oil, after 1-2 hours continous drive. If no stop, the oil sort of temporaril lose it's qualities and the engine start to sound rough. But after stop at rest area, the oil feels like okay again. Not the most reassuring thing of course?! |

QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Jan 26 2012, 09:45 AM) it wont void the warranty when it is still within the specification of the manual (SAE 10W-30 or equivalent). It is stated in the manual that it warranty will only void if using engine oil with lower API rating (xW-20 below) Agreed Bro, I did read the manual and it did state that the Warranty will void if use below API SL. Which means 99% of 20W-50 oils as they are mostly API SJ and below. In fact, for FLX with CVT I recommend to stick back to xW-30 for a much smoother vehicle and better performance. However, when I asked them about bringing my own oil, they immediately say "TAK BOLEH, VOID WARRANTY, NAK VOID WARRANT, BAWAKLAH!" with their most pathethic muka seposen..... So I wonder if I show them the Manual, will they honour their own Manual or not? As the Proton Manual CLEARLY STATES SERVICING INTERVAL IS 10,000km and yet, they directly told me,MUST SERVICE AT 5,000km if not VOID WARRANTY! Is like WTF?? Manual say A, they say B? |

QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Jan 26 2012, 10:06 AM) they cant just simply void the warranty Thanks for the advise. Next service at 5,812kms, I will take out the manual and ask them to read out to me that paragraph, then take out my API SL Engine Oil. See if they dare say anything..... If they dare, I call Proton Headquarters in front of them. I had it with them manipulating customers. they can only put a note "engine oil supplied by owner". But then if void warranty, only void the engine part. The engine basically after passing 5k-10k km without having problems means it is free from any manufacturing defects. Thats why I always believe in hard break in because I suspect manufacturers all recommend soft break in to avoid lots of warranty claims for new cars. My earlier warranty claim of Tak Tak Tak braking sound, after the SC "repaired" the sound only got worse and they still had the audacity to charge me Rm32 for the brake fluid for a half FXXK job.... Make me so furious! Now I found out my left horn button faulty somemore! Earlier post, the SC put fully synthethic Eo into another forummers' car still the Sc ask him to return after 5k kms? |
