QUOTE(pikacu @ Jun 3 2012, 09:39 PM) huMmm, pentile<tft screen< amoled < super amoeld screen? Yes, N9 has the same pentile display. The problem with pentile display is the images aren't as sharp. But as pixel density increases, the side effects of pentile isn't that noticable. SuperAMOLED is just Samsung's marketing scheme to name their AMOLED display. SuperAMOLED Plus on the S II by Samsung is a non-pentile AMOLED display. The subpixel for a pentile display is lower than a non-pentile display.Im not sure if Lumia 800 have pentile screen, but if it have, so shall be N9 too..which I'm not sure what is the difference between pentile and non pentile screen. from what I noticed...pentile screen = miniature checker board screen? Personal preference, I prefer non-pentile anytime. Just can't take the effect of pentile display. But the pentile effect on the Lumia 800 isn't that bad actually. The effect on Samsung Galaxy S and Motorola Razr is quite bad. Can't stand it. Lumia 900 will have no such issues though I'm worried that the pixel density may be too low that pixelation may occur due to the low number of actual pixel per inch. Let's just wait for demo units to appear in Nokia Store to judge for this matter. AMOLED has true blacks as the black areas are completely off. The pixels that aren't displaying anything is completely off. Pros, saving electricity and the contrast ratio is very good. Good for watching videos and movies. LCD on the other hand has the light shining through all the pixels even if it's black. So, you see black as a very dark grey or milky grey instead of true blacks. LCD produces more natural colours compared to AMOLED till date. But I'm guessing this is more of a software tuning than the actual AMOLED panels itself. |

I still can't understand about "pentile effect" , is it miniature-checker-board pixel?

Free Gift is a Nokia Universal portable USB Charger DC-16. Worth RM: 109.00, and free cutting for the Sim card. They do not have cover Yet in stock but show me some samples, 4 to be exact, Pricing is on the High side to my liking, will wait for that one for a while or check it online. Playing a little with it, well it is what I was expecting a nice piece of hardware very smooth. The unit Was set up for Singapore as there is more apps over there, it come already preloaded with Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, Tango Video Call, Tunedln Radio, Lumia Highlight, Maps Creative Studio Contact transfer ( It dose not work directly for my HTC HD Mini), and Google Mail. Owh hey! I just noticed we also have the 8773 build of WP7.5. That means Mango refresh is in, along with Internet Tethering. Not that I need them, but nice!
