Great review. I was thinking of getting the Cube also but there doesn't seem to be any sellers in Malaysia. Onda vi40 also looks nice but prices have been going up a lot recently.

Just wanted to ask a quick question. How do you find using the Cube to read pdf's, ebooks and/or comics. Main reason for me to get a tablet is because I think it's easier to read than on an LCD screen.

i found seller here, but the price far too expensive, it was somewhere at 1000 - 1200 in lowyat and lelong. fortunately i can get a cheap one from china. risk of warranty lo..
u can simply installed a cracked apps expdf reader to read pdf, comics, epub...no worry
the size of this tablet is just nice for reading book..

but ipad2 price is dropping to 1200 now, might consider it again.

Tumpang tanya, if want to transfer files from PC to Ipad - easy or hard? Seems like very hard.

All my files are PC based - movies, comics and pdf, dunno whether easy to transfer. Seems like USB port also cannot use? True?

Depends on price lor. On a tight budget, just want to use to read e-book mainly. blush.gif

Hope the unit so far is ok, cos' definitely no warranty liao... once u pass to me. If you're planning to buy Ipad2, no point hanging on to the Cube right. Hope you are in KL, cos can COD mah rclxms.gif

to revise my review of the Cube U9GT2, just after flash with new firmware:

Cons:
1. lagging sometimes
2. short battery life ~6hours with wifi on
3. Android 4.0 - can't move the apps from RAM to SD card - it is solved now by flashing with the new moage 4.35 firmware
4. Android 2.3 - need to use physical buttons to home or back (but this can be resolved by installing Button Savier 1.41, you can get virtual buttons on screen) - ignore this if using Android 4.0
5. low volume even set to high
6. quite heavy to carry while reading or playing games, hands will feel tired.

Hehe... don't poison me-lar ... I'm trying to avoid tablets for a while cos' I think prices will go down once they solve the shortage of IPS screens.

But... can't resist.... blush.gif

How much did it cost you overall i.e. RM800++ just for Cube or did you manage to snag other goodies as well i.e. kickstand keyboard, sd card, cover etc.

just for the tablet, i just bought a case for this at 100

Hehe... thanks for the info. Looks like there's about 20% profit margin for bringing back these tablet back to KL. Can let me know why you decided the Cube over Onda vi40?

Anyway, Onda Vi40 selling for about RM900 right now, so it's even more expensive than the Cube @ current prices.

Hey, thanks biggrin.gif

You seem to have put a lot of due diligence into this. Wow, the feedback from the China forum is so negative. From the English sites, I visited, it's quite the opposite. That's really strange but I guess the China forum is more reliable. blink.gif

Man, anyone here manage to have a look-see at the Ipad3? I really wonder how much better is the display compared to Ipad2?

Can our eyes really see the difference at such high reso? Seems a bit of an overkill to me.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think it's worth paying such a premium for some 'slightly' better visual screen.

Yah tempting but I heard you can't transfer files from PC to Ipad direct. Have to upload to the Internet via drop box.... sad.gif

BTW - Is it easy to transfer files and create folders for Android tablets?

Hey ericmaxman,

What do you think about china tablets? Can they withstand constant use? I plan to use it heavily as an e-book reader and video occasionally. Will they conk out quickly?

The price differential between the China tablets vs. Iconia/Transformer is pretty steep.

I'll have to test mine extensively to draw a conclusion, and mine's just a few days old sweat.gif

I think how one abuses the tablet should decide how long it'll last tongue.gif

So how does the branded tablet (Windpad, Viewsonic, Asus, Acer) compare to the Chinese brand one? You think better?

I kena 'poison' already. Eager to get one, but still undecided between Acer W500 (windows mah) and China Android brand one.

The 9.7 inch ones. Either Onda vi40 16Gb or Zenithink C91 10" 8GB 1GB RAM or Cube U9GT2

or

Acer W500.

hi there, am interested in buying a tablet from an online merchant in China. but i was wondering if there's any other charges that i need to fork out when the package reached Msia. like tax or duties? anyone have bought before? pls advise. Thanks smile.gif

Although buying from China is cheaper, are you sure it's a good idea? If there's problem, you can't really claim warranty when you factor in the shipping charges. Further, there's a lot of dodgy on-line sellers, so you need to be careful.
