I handle my 3GS with care. It dropped from my pocket because there was a hole in my pocket. cry.gif

haha unlucky! I did experience that before, but with a old flip phone, drop hundreds of time and still, functioning! rclxms.gif

Well, the capacitance button is really giving a little bit of trouble here..
I guess this could be fixed through software update? No?

QUOTE(benny888 @ Mar 5 2012, 07:57 AM)
I would say this is a design flaw.
*
It is actually yes.
And, it does confused the customers, letting them wonder what are the dots stands for..

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Mar 5 2012, 11:09 AM)
I think the 3 dots thing is the worst design decision in the history of phones.
*
Kind of laugh.gif

QUOTE(exkaizen @ Mar 5 2012, 11:14 AM)
worst design should be when all phone design are the same/similar but diffence in the specs between each years
*
LOL you're funny! Good joke haha laugh.gif

QUOTE(hianz86 @ Mar 5 2012, 02:02 PM)
If got white bezel will be nicer...
*
Looks better somehow.

QUOTE(TSOM @ Mar 5 2012, 02:04 PM)
what is a white bezel?
*
In another words its like the "picture frame" but it isnt exactly called as frame.

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Mar 5 2012, 04:18 PM)
Sony may be a luxury brand in other stuff they sell, but in the world of smartphones and Android, their phones aren't really considered very special. I think HTC and Samsung are considered more premium than Sony in terms of smartphones today.
*
SonyE had their golden years few years back when they had K-series (K750i etc etc), W-series (W980 etc etc) and so on. At that time, SonyE was really really famous =) Until one day when Samsung arises.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Mar 5 2012, 05:40 PM)
Look at my signature list of phones I have used
*
Good blog there you got bro.

QUOTE(valho @ Mar 5 2012, 06:39 PM)
Shows that there's a lot of ppl interested in this phone, Sony should come see this thread and fast fast release it haha
*
Worth the wait i guess.

QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ Mar 6 2012, 12:27 PM)
Miss the 3310 days when we can change the casing anytime. dont need to worry about choosing color. biggrin.gif
*
Correct! Even more when you dont need protector, can drop the phone like a boss laugh.gif

QUOTE(Ninja @ Mar 6 2012, 01:52 PM)
Yeah, that was me. tongue.gif

Color banding issue was raised by TheVerge review. I didn't noticed any color banding on my unit. The screen is extremely sharp, high contrast, and black level is good. I'm not sure where the reviewer saw the color banding issue on the screen.
So far only tested with MP4 720p clip. Will try again tonight with other formats (AVI, MKV, etc).
*
Sony is very good at their pedestal settings for good black level =)
Add with the mighty BRAVIA engine, perfect wink.gif

Added on March 6, 2012, 7:25 pmDoes this phone is equipped with MHL technology?
I dont see MHL word in their specs from 1st page of this thread.

QUOTE(TSOM @ Mar 6 2012, 07:30 PM)
I don't know lah ... I like white from the front, black from the back ...
*
Same thoughts here bro.
The white bezel look-a-like really makes the phone unique, but when look at the back, Black = Marvellous!

QUOTE(valho @ Mar 6 2012, 07:42 PM)
You problem will be solve if Sony release back and bottom casing biggrin.gif

I am kinda thinking of getting black now coz current phone is white lol, but still white is tempting hmmm
*
Slim chances i would say, profit margin for them will be low. Doubt Sony will do that but lets hope rclxms.gif

QUOTE(neowakko @ Mar 6 2012, 11:18 PM)
I've taken a real close look at the screen (while charging) with the screen off and on. No abnormal dots present. Haven't heard about this one actually, what were the symptoms and who had it?

The heat- no discomfort while holding. It was just warm. The kind of warm that could've been caused by exposure to direct sunlight.
*
I believe not all Xperia S have such problem as claimed. Just hope you're the lucky one nod.gif Problems like dead pixels are one of the most common problem found. Imagine, you are mass producing a phone and the total defects should increases as well.

Warm during normal charging is pretty normal, what is more with the fast charging, the amount of heat produced should be more, hence understood icon_rolleyes.gif Some might feel worried about the excessive heat, but silicon do have a high melting temperature point before it malfunctions. thumbup.gif Sony, like no other haha laugh.gif
