Let me try to explain,

1. clean the house - self explainary.

2. prepare mix of rice and salt and throw them around the house, especially the corners. Leave them for 24 hours or more before clean them. - chase away the evil occupying the corners.

3. prepare wood/charcoal, rice, cooking oil, salt, vinegar, sauce & tea. Place them near the sink or in kitchen. Symbolize you have all the neccessaries (sorry, I have problem spelling neccessary). - already explained.

On the moving day:
1. avoid quarrel and disputes - so that people staying in the new house have good relationship

2. Do or hold auspicious/meaningful items when walk into the house. My brother in law insist we roll a pineapple from the main door into the house before stepping in. Some said throw shillings, some said bring ang pows, oranges of lokam. - pineapple means profit, orange/lokam means gold. sdo this means increase owner's wealth.

3. On the lights and fans. - dark place attract the unseen. so lights up to chase them away (if any).

4. Boil water - use the stove, water = live.

6. Invite some family members and friends over and enjoy food. We ordered pizzas. - to increase the human qi.

7. Turn on musics and TV, if any. - to live up the environment , quiet place also attract the unseen i guess.

8. After that leave at least one light on for 3 days. - same as 3
