I can't choose between CheckROM and RocketROM, which one should i go for? In terms of battery saving, which one is the best?

Need help i just downloaded the latest OS from Kies. The downloading is ok and installation reach 100% but when my phone display "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!" and things were fine for few minute. after that on my computer screen it's display "Lost Connection, Please Restart" so should i restart my phone ? i'm confuse.

Correct
Choose restore missing apps. Never choose system apps as it will overwrite new rom files
Choose system data if required Deselect all n selectively restore data only for certain apps eg touchwiz you can restore back your previous settings

Rooting allow you to install map with navigation in malaysia!
Custom rom that i'm using now Rocket Rom V15 has 14 toggle button.
look at the print screen.

personally i like the extra button data, airplane, and lockscreen (disable lock screen when i use the original flip case) swipe on the toggle bar to the right to see more of the buttons.
can directly go to their individual setting by long press.

on custom rom, got slower slow speed. stock is 200mhz, custom rom is 100mhz.. when the phone is idling on custom rom, save battery juice.

next is under volting.. after root and custom rom, can undervolt the CPU voltage.. but i haven't test it out yet.

If you are on abyss chris  XXKL7 rom,  his latest ver 1.05 has incorporated the 14 toggle taskbar

i havent install cmw yet. just rooted using zergrush. havent install cmw yet...and cant find it on the 1st few page.  so dno how to intall cmw in this device

i also feel the chris rom which based on la1 is not so impressive compare to the old rocket rom v13 which i used..  will try it after i finish dl v17 later on Thanks~ did u do a full wipe before flash?

I just flash ontop of Chris 1.2 LA1 without any wipe . Will evaluate to assess any bugs

Compared to ICS, 2.3.6 sure can't compete. I just wonder why my OTA not getting this update as others have...

Yes is same
It is good to wipe cache consider it as spring cleaning. It will not harm phone and infact is good step to rebuild all cache during reboot

Of course you can flash it. You can always flash another kernel on top of it if hou do not like the default chainfire kernel
