What the best kernel/rom combo? Abyss/rocket rom? And what should I flash first? Kernel or rom? I'm a new Note owner btw... Planning to root my first android phone.

If I want to keep my data/scores on my apps (eg. angrybird etc.), I'll have to root my phone with CWM, then get titanium backup to back up my apps, and then only flash a new rom right? Since I'm pretty much still a newbie and I think I have read some of the comments on here that if flashing for the 1st time, it's better to go for a full wipe? I'm assuming full wipe doesn't wipe the internal sdcard...

When I try to extract 2.3.5 (Malaysia) stock rom, there is an error... I have tried downloading the file twice from XDA and the same thing happened. Does it matter if I get the rom from Malaysia or from places like Indonesia etc.?

QUOTE(duxz @ Jan 13 2012, 02:14 PM) tried downloading twice... once from xda forum and once from samsung site. The file does download with all the content in there but just can extract it out. Dont really know what is wrong. I faced the exact same problem yesterday night... I'm going to try to extract the same file from another region (choosing Indonesia this time) to see if that works... Can only tell you when I reach home. |

QUOTE(Cynox @ Jan 24 2012, 10:37 AM) anyone flash Rocket Rom 19_1? For V19_1, they removed the lidroid 14 toggle mod and replace it with something that looks like stock rom with the addition of Jkay mod. You can get a similar 14 toggle look in your notification bar by making changes in the Deluxe Settings. The Jkay mod is still in alpha stage though which means that not all functions are either working or working properly... The mod should be good when it's finished since it gives u plenty of options etc...I did the following at CWM Recovery: 1. Full Wipe/Factory Reset. 2. Flash Rocket ROM V19 - it will do full wipe during the flashing. 3. Successfully done and get all the many toggles and % of battery at the notification bar. GREAT!! 4. Without doing a full wipe (as instructed at Rocket ROM XDA thread), do flashing for V19_1, BUT it will still do full wipe during the flashing. 5. Done and boot up fine BUT now all the toggles are gone except the standard one like stock rom and the battery stats in % is gone too. So no choice i repeated step 1 to 3 again to flash back to V19 to get back the toggles and battery stats in %. Anything I missed out or din follow properly? Many thanks. |
