what version u r using...2.3.6 or 2.3.5...

since urs is rooted, how bout update to 2.3.6 using mobile odin...it will keep ur root, however if u insist on update it through ota, u will lose ur root..n to root it back, u need to revert back to 2.3.5..so, my suggestion, update it through mobile odin.

how bout u try first..update ur fon through ota..who knows ur root might intact with 2.3.6...

the reason why there is so many steps is becoz lot of people happen to lose their root...

go ahead n try...i want to know also whether ur root will be remained...

gud to know..i think we might need to start new discussion bout dis..how come n why...?

btw, my fon still unrooted ..coz i feel comfortable with it..yet, happy with stock..

moreover, does it means that all LA1 user can root their device without going to revert back to 2.3.5????

becoz lot of people lose their root when they update their device...u can read V5 thread...i guess this is new...

iinm.no more 2 years warranty starting dis year, if the seller said 2 years warranty, ask them to register the warranty in front of u..n make sure u got sms saying ur warranty is from what date till what date...

yeah....he very sure bout it..becoz he juz update his fon through ota, n still got his root

i also have dis prob..couldnt care less bout dis..while watching video,,,sometimes it happen..for me it is software related...juz like when nexus s got update, the display become yellowish...for me la...

i really want to root, but i think need to wait first..coz i dun have money on my debit card...so cannot buy mobile odin to flash to LA1...unless if i revert back to 2.3.5, root, n got ota update to LA1, then its ok for me...

can we get ota update after revert back..?

wta...from 2.3.5, if i want to flash my fon to LA4, do i need to flash it first to LA3 or not...?

Here simplified Rooting and CWM recovery for Galaxy Note N7000
- Download Root package, see at end of post
- There are three folder
1. Initial CFroot flasher
2. Two other folder having zImage file , you need one only

Which file do I use ?
Listen closely, for I will say zis only once!
Go to Settings -> About phone -> Kernel Version. Note the string present there:
2.6.35.7-N7000XXKJ4-CL641703
What matters most (KJ4) in this case, is in bold. Try to find the matching file
e.g. CF-Root-SGN_XX_XEN_KJ4-v5.0-CWM4.zip)

so choose accordingly

- Place the zImage file accordingly in folder 1.initial CFroot flasher /zImage folder
