What is refurbished set?
Go google definition of refurbished =__=

Is it a new set of casing with old inner parts?
External casing/housing is new, inner parts though varies, mixtures of new and used parts.

where those set comes from?
Comes from China, same factory that manufactures iPhones.

What is the condition of the set?
From outside, it's a totally new phone. Parts like I said, some are used, some are new.

Can we detect refurbished set phone?
Settings> General> About> Model
Refurbished sets model number ends with LL.

Any complaint from refurbished set owner?
Refurbished sets functions and work like a new phone. Parts that are put together are tested as per normal QC. I have personally used 2 refurbished iPhone (Claimed from Maxis) and have no weird problem whatsoever. It's just like any other new iPhone that you buy from the store.

Additional info:

Refurbished set doesn't come with box or any other original accessories. Just the handset itself. Therefore once you have claimed warranty, your imei and s/n will differ from your original box. And upon receiving refurbished set as warranty claim, Apple will cover additional 3 months warranty on the set or follows your existing warranty coverage, whichever longer. E.g. original warranty expires Jan 2012, you claim in Dec 2011. Newly claimed refurbished set will be covered until Mar 2012. Else if your original warranty period expires Jul 2012, then the period is valid until Jul 2012.

Added on January 11, 2012, 3:42 pmIf you go to telco and buy new in box, of course it's a new set with MY and not LL. What he meant was if you go telco and exchange, you'll get refurbished set with LL.

Added on January 11, 2012, 3:47 pmI would like to add on that discussion about refurbished set is irrelevant. Like I said, new and refurbished sets are thoroughly checked by QC at Apple's China factory before shipping. And this is not something new. Apple have been practicing this exchange policy with refurbished sets since first gen iPod. All iDevices warranty claim policy is to be replaced by refurbished sets, except Macs and other accessories.

New and refurbished sets both might or might not have problem until the end of their lives. It's electronics. Nobody can guarantee a non-failure for electronics, hence the warranty coverage.
