After you try the default kernel of AOKP, try Franco's kernel. Has a lot of good reviews on it

Got my set from directd (RM1988). So far so fast haha

Things I hate (so far):

- the Gallery got mixed up with Google Photos. ICS messed this pretty badly IMO

Nandroid restore the whole ROM, when you restore, you restore the whole ROM.

TB is for apps and apps data.

if you're flashing to a new line of ROMs, e.g ARHD to AOKP you can't restore you settings data, as this will mess up the ROM. otherwise you won't have to wipe in the first place. smile.gif
*
thanks for the info icon_rolleyes.gif so you mean if i flashed from AOKP14 to AOKP15, all the apps and settings should be on place like before? in this should i clean wipe or not?

huh the default ics it comes with not good enough? wat rom you using?
*
Yes its kind of addiction smile.gif Plus it does give some better performance and i believe its not just a placebo effect. Well all roms have bugs in them, including stock one (rotation prob is one of the major prob u may check google). Of course official update from Google might fixed them as well but the developers are very hardworking to provide better and reliable roms with many customisation rclxms.gif I'm still learning just a few weeks with Android. Currently running OpenKang after migrate from AndroidRevolution.

Plus thats is the main purpose we pick Android and not the 'other' OS right? smile.gif

it depends on the ROM update, most of the time you don't have to wipe if you're flashing one update, but there are times where the update is big, the developer will specify that you to wipe first before flashing.

Either way, wipe or no wipe, its best to backup first, nandroid or TB, every time you want to flash a new ROM update. Unless of course if you don't mind losing all the data, then don't backup tongue.gif
*
so the simplest way before flashing is :-

1. Run TitaniumBackup (on current rom)
2. Nandroid backup (to be safe)
3. Clean wipe (optional)
4. Flashing new ROM
5. Restore TitaniumBackup (on new rom)

Correct? No?

Dear flash maniac,
1. AOKP
- Milestone 2 update
- nightly Build still is 15

2. franco.Kernel: 12th January - nightly #12
* Revert Regulator driver backport from 3.2 - I think this was the cause for the strange reboots during browsing etc
* Stripped down the config - more debug shit deleted
* Added NTFS support
* Added ColorControl by Ezekeel:
/sys/class/misc/colorcontrol/v1_offsets
V1 gamma offset triple (default -4/0/5, set with 'echo "-10 0 -2" > v1_offsets' for example, causing green tint when 2. value < 0)
* Some minor tweaks and optimizations
franco.Kernel updater app:
* Added ColorControl mod - you can now change the colors on the fly without having to mess with scripts or terminal commands
*
already flashed thumbup.gif anyway you using the updater app?

got my nexus from alie last night! still tinkering with it. finding it a little troublesome to sync with my mac, my 3GS was so much easier to sync with heh.

i use DoubleTwist for media and Address Book to sync contact with Google Account straight to the Nexus.
