QUOTE(JCI2008 @ Feb 11 2012, 07:15 PM) Anyone has experience with the sofa sold at IKEA ie: Ektorp brand? From the website, it seems like that it has 10 years guarantee on its brand. I am surveying for the type of sofa to buy for my new house, and its seem like the sofa from IKEA (fabric type) is within my budget.. Go and try if it feel comfortable to your back and bud. Keep the receipt ikea will honor the warranty.

Many furniture shop along the highway will change name or move after few years. Even give you 5 years warranty will have hard time finding them back.

QUOTE(prop99 @ Feb 12 2012, 08:31 PM) Anyway, if your sofa don't fail in the first 6 to 12 months, it will not usually crumble. The rest is wear and tear which is not warranted anyway. However, if you know the manufacturer locally, to send back to factory for upholstery is not difficult if you have unusual wear, just in case. Not really. my In-law sofa leather just after 12 months the skin peel out. The shop they brought was close down. Luck they saw it another place and managed to get warranty.

QUOTE(webby88 @ Feb 12 2012, 10:49 PM) Usually leather do not peel unless it is split leather. Could be. But since it gave 5 years warranty, it should be honor. Just where can we find the shop is another story.
