How many year u din passby the desa petaling?

if you would like to get leather from that area, pls do avoid. 

my story was, the showroom unit and the one in my house wasn't the same leather. tear out in a year time

Go and try if it feel comfortable to your back and bud. Keep the receipt ikea will honor the warranty.

IKEA will fulfil their warranty as per stated in the warranties.  As far as I know, for sofa it is a 10 years limited warranty.  You need to know what is covered and what is not in the limited warranty.  Usually the limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship like Frame, Base, Legs etc.  However the limited warranty will exclude Fixed leather/fabric top and covers, removable fabric covers etc, due to wear and tear.  Same like most local sofa provider which usually give up to 5 years.

My experience with sofas is that it the frame or structure will last a long time, but it is the upholstery like leather or fabric covers that will wear out first. 

So not much to shout about in this case.  However if IKEA gives good value, from material/construction/finishing and does not hurt your pocket much, then it is alright. 

My suggestion is to go around other shops as well to understand more on the product before committing.
