Sorry just to ask,

Yesterday saw Promotion @ Lorenzo, at first thinking to survey the price but ended up bought a set of dining table & full Leather sofa.

Is Lorenzo leather sofa made from good quality leather? the whole set cost me RM 7952 after 45% or 50% discount, is not cheap.. Hope anyone can enlighten me, coz after reached home only realized quite expensive and i know nth about leather + this is the first sofa i ever bought, it's for my new house.

haiz..... guess i just buying without any further thinking...

Did they tell what leather you are getting and the thickness? If not it can be any quality.

Anyway here are some comments.

11K is a lot of $$$ especially if it is hard earned. You should have read some of the forums and research b4 buying. Maybe can even find some good catch for premium sofas.

Anyway, if you have paid 30%, don't think you can rethink.

Good luck to you. smile.gif

Dear all sifus

Usually at furniture showroom the sales person would not give all the details about the sofa. After reading here and there around LYN forums, i have come to learn that we should ask the following questions before purchasing a sofa:

1. Leather sofa: what type of leather? Aniline, casa or etc.
2. Leather sofa: what is the thickness? Acceptable is 0.8mm and above
3. What is the wood material used for the sofa frame? Meranti wood or ??
4. Fabric sofa: is the fabric durable against stracthes, can easy remove stains? Whether water resistant (not absorb water very fast)?
5. The material used in inside seats to avoid sagging?
6. Lastly, ask how long is the warranty and price.
I hope to double check with all sifus whether these little informations are correct or not. Did i miss out any important details? Please advice.

Comments are most welcomed.

As far as I know, Casa leather is PU and not leather.

Here's my thought:

1. Normally sofa retailers will give you standard reply that their sofa is leather. If mentioned Aniline, the prices will be very much higher. For Bovine leather, it can mean many things from cowhide, buffalohide to split leather. Casa, Leren and many other names are basically artificial leather.
2. Many sofa offer thin leather, i.e. from 0.7 to 1.0mm due to cost Thin leather usually wrinkle out very fast and give you an aged look. Suggestion is go for thick leather if you can afford the cost.
3. Well made frame with hard wood is OK.
4. Fabric is usually coated with protector guard. However this will fade out overtime or washing.
5. Sagging usually a combination of the underlying support.
6. If the sofa don't fail you in a few months it will not fail you in a few years time. Pricing depends on the materials, construction etc and make sure to compare apple to apple.

Just use damp cloth with water. Use leather cleaner and polish moderately once every 3 to 6 months.

Anyone can advise Acacia Fabric from Germany ? The retailer said no need to remove and wash, just use cleaner to spray and clean. It is also very water resistant.

I prefer half leather as the PU look the same. My half leather Lorenzo sofa still reasonably good condition after 10 years. But during sales, salesperson will ask you to go for full leather since it is more worthy as amount saved is higher.
