QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Feb 21 2013, 06:15 PM) Gold plan u buy "paper" gold. Or do they let u have the physical gold? U only gain from the capital appreciation and loss from the price drops of gold prices. With OSK-UOB Gold and General, u are investing stocks of gold producers and other mineral (oil and gas, copper etc) producers. but the staff told me the GnG profit n loss is depends on gold price and the mining company.. is that right?? if i invested rm3k, how do i know whether i earn or lose money?? i bought the fund just now

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Feb 21 2013, 06:29 PM) BULLSH*T! Price of gold mining companies' stocks CAN fall even when gold prices are rising (as in the case in 2012). http://www.oskuob.com.my/OSKUOB/index.jspBasically u take no. of units u hold multiplied by the current price, e.g. u have 1,000 units, current price is RM1.250, so your current value is RM1,250.00 how do i check how many units i have currently??

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Feb 21 2013, 06:38 PM) Wait for UOB to send u the transaction receipt. Or u can work out yourself to counter-check. U bought today right? The price won't be known at least until end of tomorrow. Amount Invested / (1 + Sales Charge) / NAV price = RM3,000 / 1.055 / NAV price (I'm assuming u did not get any discount on the Sales Charge, which is at 5.5%) Go OSK-UOB website and check the NAV price for 21-Feb-2012 after 5PM tomorrow. so basically im not investing in gold am i? then what am i investing now?? i see those website put this fund as level10 risk fund..

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Feb 21 2013, 06:55 PM) In 2012, gold prices go up and up and up, but your Gold & General Fund dropped, cos cost of production of gold miners went up and there are complications to production, thus their profitability plunged (or general sentiments about them go sour? I'm not too sure, u can go read it up). and 1 more question, my profit and loss follows the world gold price or that company's performance? cuz just now i called the manager who intro me this fund says that this fund profit n loss is according to gold price but instead of buying per gram, im buying per unit is that right?

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Feb 22 2013, 11:45 AM) +100 We investors should make the banks/agents see that we have our RIGHTS, and won't hesitate to exercise it. so,from the opinion of all sifu's... is it better to change it back to paper gold or leave it in the fund?
