how do i check how many units i have currently??
*
Wait for UOB to send u the transaction receipt.

Or u can work out yourself to counter-check.

U bought today right? The price won't be known at least until end of tomorrow.

Amount Invested / (1 + Sales Charge) / NAV price
= RM3,000 / 1.055 / NAV price (I'm assuming u did not get any discount on the Sales Charge, which is at 5.5%)

Go OSK-UOB website and check the NAV price for 21-Feb-2012 after 5PM tomorrow.

so im investing in gold mining company, which means if gold price increase, my investment increase and vice versa? right?

please teach me cuz im 21, still blur in all these stuff
ya,and i saw the bottoming of it D:

In 2012, gold prices go up and up and up, but your Gold & General Fund dropped, cos cost of production of gold miners went up and there are complications to production, thus their profitability plunged (or general sentiments about them go sour? I'm not too sure, u can go read it up).

and 1 more question, my profit and loss follows the world gold price or that company's performance?

cuz just now i called the manager who intro me this fund says that this fund profit n loss is according to gold price but instead of buying per gram, im buying per unit
is that right?
*
if he/she keep on saying that, u can report him to SC/UT authorities for mis-selling sleep.gif

u would have to make a lot of noise at the branch to get that whistling.gif

If u just wanna dump RM3K and hope for the best, perhaps OUGGF that u bought CAN be kept. But if u want to have a systematic approach to INVESTING, please take some time and read my previous posts. tongue.gif

This week will be a bad equity week.

Started yesterday with US market closing 1% lower.

Today Asian market in blood bath with nearly 2% loss. China is trying to curb property market.

European market starts RED with nearly 2% since services and factory output contracted more than analyst expectation.

Learn this the hard way. Bought a bunch of AmPrecious Metal more than a year ago and it drop like a rock although gold price went up. Better go with actual gold account in UOB but unfortunately UOB don't provide online trading facility.
*
That's why ppl say, READ THE PROSPECTUS! tongue.gif

but with physical gold, if gold prices move sideway, u earn nothing. Gold funds like OUGGF and APM u earn dividends from the companies.

Luckily I didn't buy gold or commodities related fund at all.

Got one time I didn't wanted to jump into AmPrecious Metal.

Was choosing between AmPrecious Metal and AmAsia Pacific REIT.

Finally made mind with later one and it was a right decision. ROI: 9.86%, XIRR: 18.18%
