But I found one very good stock (dividend 7% and growing earnings, albeit slowly). The maker of Ping Pong crackers icon_idea.gif

Of course, being a small cap, not much liquidity. But holding for dividend, I think very nice rclxms.gif

What I plan is, I'd still keep minimal holding in a Malaysia equity fund (Eastspring Investments Equity Income Fund), then I create my own stocks portfolio. Over time, I can compare which perform better in IRR terms icon_idea.gif

Sigh want to go into Hwang Asia Quantum so badly (esp with the FSM promo at 1% SC) but the price is soo high and going up up and up. Not wise to go in now is it?
*
Can buy, cos the Fund Manager has already taken some profit off the table (see Jan-13 fact sheet, the fund is sitting on 30% cash). When the market crashes/corrects, the fund is in position to bargain shop.

So you're saying buy little now, then when market crashes/corrects, buy more?
*
Yes, and no doh.gif

What I meant was, leave the market timing to the Fund Manager, u can buy in now. Best to employ DCA or VCA, don't try to time the market esp if u don't have the technical analysis skills, u gonna go bananas rclxub.gif

haha ok sorry for the misunderstanding, and thank you! Yes i do DCA currently. May I know what is in your UT portfolio currently?

This is currently mine:

Hwang Select Income Fund
OSK-UOB Asian Income Fund
Templeton Global Total Return Fund (Global Bond)
Pacific Global Stars
PITTIKAL (local equity)
PSBF and PIEBF (local bond)

Am thinking of going into EITHER REITs (AmAsia Pacific REITs) or GEM (maybe Eastspring Investments Global Emerging Markets Fund) or Alliance Global Equities Fund.

Opinions please?

Where you see that cash is sitting at 30%?

The fund fact sheet that I downloaded from FSM showed only 13.3%.

18.5% only! No 30% as you claimed. Are you referring to another HwangIM fund?

Oops! Sorry, 30% is for Hwang Global Financial Institutions blush.gif

HAQF still has substantial holding on Malaysia equities - 23.9%
*
Reduced, but still substantial. Well, Malaysian equities still anchor the fund. But I think GE risk is more significant with large caps esp GLCs, smaller caps should be safer from the storm.

May I know what made you choose OU Global Equity Yield over Alliance Global Equities Fund? And EI Equity Income over Kenanga Growth?

Thanks smile.gif
*
OU GEYF compared to Alliance GEF:
- overweight US and Europe i.e. Developed Markets
- focus on dividend yield
- lower volatility

Why EI EIF?
Because I already have some exposure to Malaysian large caps thru EI GEMF, and small caps thru Hwang AQF. Thus, I want a Malaysian equity fund that focuses on dividend income rather than growth.

pinky, how u know whether the fund is focus on dividend yield or chiong one? i see fund factsheets mostly say wat region, wat they holding and their performance and some funds data only..
*
Look at their prospectus lo boss...they will state the investment style of the fund.

GEYF invest with dividends as primary focus, capital growth is secondary.
Same thing with EI EIF

Dollardex/POEM have promo... 0% sales charge.. for everything brows.gif

Since RHB has acquired OSK, can we do redemption of OSK-UOB funds at RHB branches?
*
doh.gif

U redeem from the channel where u bought your units, e.g. u bought thru FSM, u redeem thru FSM; u bought thru Maybank, u redeem thru Maybank. If u go to an OSK-UOB office and say u wanna redeem your units that u buy thru Maybank, chances are they won't layan u tongue.gif
