QUOTE(then17000 @ Feb 21 2013, 12:07 AM) Thanks for the information, It's country allocation that matters for the 4 funds listed earlier. Besides that, compared from the AmAsia Pacific REIT and other similar funds which funds would have more potential in these coming year? Any recommendation? Other than that, do you have any other recommendation funds that is not in REIT Category. As I mentioned earlier, OSK-UOB Asian Real Estate Fund, PUBLIC FAR-EAST PROPERTY & RESORTS FUND and AmAsia Pacific REIT have deep exposure in Asia Pacific region. If you read into their fund fact sheet, you'll notice that they're investing into REITs at Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. FSM has cautioned over AmAsia Pacific REIT as per article in the link shared. Similar concern is still valid for SK-UOB Asian Real Estate Fund and PUBLIC FAR-EAST PROPERTY & RESORTS FUND. Moving forward, the return may not be so high as last year but may still offer decent return. The remaining two REIT related funds have exposure in US and/or Europe region. If you want to look for other options, you may go for dividend funds like Pink Spider recommended earlier such as OSK-UOB Global Equity Yield and Eastspring Investments Equity Income. |

This week will be a bad equity week.
Started yesterday with US market closing 1% lower. Today Asian market in blood bath with nearly 2% loss. China is trying to curb property market. European market starts RED with nearly 2% since services and factory output contracted more than analyst expectation. |

Luckily I didn't buy gold or commodities related fund at all.
Got one time I didn't wanted to jump into AmPrecious Metal. Was choosing between AmPrecious Metal and AmAsia Pacific REIT. Finally made mind with later one and it was a right decision. ROI: 9.86%, XIRR: 18.18% |

QUOTE(gark @ Feb 25 2013, 11:37 AM) Hwang AUD income fund is investing Australia bond. Similar concept to AmDynamic bond.Recently Australia is aggressively reducing interest rate. that is why you see outperformance in this fund, but for how long more?. Also this fund is risky with 14% holding BBB credits and 51% holding A credit, 20% in AA credit.... no AAA credit. Good for those with appetite for higher risk bond funds... In order to beat benchmark return, the fund invested in riskier commercial papers with lower credit rating. AmBond maturity: <= 1 year AmDynamic Bond maturity: > 1 year |
