25% as cash? Mine barely 2-4%  laugh.gif why u maintain such a high portion for cash? Opportunity cost for bond fund ler. That is why i treat my bond fund as cash.
*
Switching from bond to equity takes T+4 to be processed unless u are switching from within the same fund house.

Equities during volatile times can dip 1% today, 2% tomorrow, 1% the next and then rally 2-3% u know...
...with Cash Management Fund I can buy in on the same day. icon_idea.gif

And with net yield of 3%, what's there to complain? biggrin.gif

Oh no wonder. Since i invest in the same fund house, i can buy directly without T+4 thingy  laugh.gif

You invest anything in real estate or property? How is your asset allocation? Wanna compare accountant/finance background allocation with street investor like me.  biggrin.gif
*
Me akauntan lesen "P" only lar blush.gif

Only FDs and UTs, no REIT/property, yet. sad.gif

UT allocation: 75% bonds 25% equities (abnormally high % in bonds cos just splurged on AmDynamic Bond tongue.gif )
My usual allocation is between 50/50 and 60/40

55% in Malaysian bonds
10% in Emerging Markets bonds
7% in Global bonds (overweight Asia)
10% in Emerging Markets equities
18% in Global Equities

NO Malaysian equity fund in my portfolio doh.gif laugh.gif

Pink

I just know that Oskuob EMBF is a feeder fund. Tracking United EMBF from Singapore. Seems their performance over the yrs is solo wor. But why now the Oskuob EMBF doing so good?

You think good to go it this time? Or wait? Got 1% sales charge lei..
*
United EMBF is denominated in SGD

One reason I suspect would be SGD appreciating against MYR, helping the NAV in RM terms hmm.gif
E.g. u buy RM100 when RM2:$1. Later when RM2.5:$1, your holding would be valued at RM125. Get it? icon_idea.gif

(in SGD terms)
1 year: 5.85%
2 years: 5.35%
3 years: 8.98%
5 years: 6.68%
10 years: 6.71%

Not bad what? rclxub.gif

Its up 3.68% in past 3 months...quite consistent with my holding's performance.

Ah.. Get it. Forex appreciation la..

Well.. Performance is not bad if comparing with normal bond fund la.. Hehe

But 1% sales charge.. Reluctant to pay la for a bond fund
*
if u THINK properly, AmDynamic Bond lagi teruk rolleyes.gif

With EMBF, u buy in SC 1.5% (normal SC rate), RM1,000 means u pay RM1,015
then profits are all yours

But with AmDynamic Bond, u buy in no SC, RM1,000
but years later u sell, RM1,000 sudah jadi RM2,000...exit fee 1% means u "rugi" RM20 tongue.gif

Haha..you think like tat ar. Good also..

Buy in rm1k, don't know wait till when just can see at least untung rm500.
*
With FSM, 1.5% for EMBF not too bad lar...if u buy thru banks, 3% yo sweat.gif

Hwang Select Bond Fund also not bad...invests in global bonds, overweight Asia but also with 1.5% SC tongue.gif

SBF vs EMBF
- EMBF higher returns. Managed from SGD perspective
- SBF lower volatility. Managed from MYR perspective

The attractiveness of US equity. Robust earnings from US companies. Still low valuation for US equity based on S&P 500 average.
*
Agree. But European equities kena lagi teruk compared to US equities due to the ongoing sovereign debt crisis... hmm.gif

Just tried to compare the performance of RHB - GS US Equity Fund to EA Global Leaders MY Fund's...GS only has 1 year return to compare... doh.gif

I still like EAGLF more... tongue.gif

Why?
- It searches for and invests in "leader" companies across markets
- Currently its overweight US (for obvious reasons, cos most "leaders" are either in Dow or S&P 500), remainder in Europe and Japan
- Very little exposure to Asia Ex-Japan

How about EASTSPRING INVESTMENTS GLOBAL LEADERS MY FUND compared to PACIFIC GLOBAL STARS FUND?

Both should have similar objective but PGSF has more exposure in HK and SG. US have only 18.2% based on the fund sheet in the magazine. (still reading, haven't finish).
*
But different approach to stock picking...

GLeaders - Search for "leader" companies that are attractively valued
GStars - Search for stocks that will outperform the market

Read their prospectus wink.gif

Maybe I shall consider EASTSPRING INVESTMENTS GLOBAL LEADERS MY FUND since it has more allocation outside Asian region (excluding Japan).

I have 47% of my portfolio in Asian market (excluding Australia).
*
caveat emptor, kalau rugi jangan cari saya tongue.gif

Alliance Global Equities also not bad, strong performer. But not recommended for u since u already Asia-heavy...cos it's investment mandate is 2/3 in Asia, actively managed and 1/3 in US+Japan+France+Germany+UK, passively managed.

Don't worry, I won't blame you if I burnt my hands but EASTSPRING INVESTMENTS GLOBAL LEADERS MY FUND is one of the recommended fund and I shall seek something to compliment my current portfolio which is heavily in Asian (excluding Australia and Malaysia).

That's why I was attracted in first glance on RHB - GS US Equity Fund but since you mentioned EASTSPRING INVESTMENTS GLOBAL LEADERS MY FUND, I may weigh that too in my choices.
*
why not u buy Pacific Global Stars then we compare our portfolio returns tongue.gif

PACIFIC GLOBAL STARS FUND has more exposure in Asia region. That doesn't lure me.

Somebody mentioned about ASEAN region. Which one is better AmASEAN Equity or OSK-UOB ASEAN Fund?

I thoughts u already have an ASEAN fund, and u were that "somebody"? blink.gif

I remembered got another forumer mentioned to buy ASEAN region fund. That's not me for sure. Not sure in this thread or the other general Fund thread.

It's true that I really have ASEAN fund from PM but I'm considering to lock the profit of nearly 20% and buy a lower cost fund (2% SC) from FSM.

David, in the meantime why not consider Pheim Asia Ex-Japan (both the conventional and the Shariah-compliant one)...though the name is "Asia Ex-Japan", they're ASEAN-overweight.

My company invested some money with Pheim...they're crazy market beaters I tell u... sweat.gif

Look harder doh.gif

Charges are listed on the page of the fund itself...e.g.

http://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/fundi...number=MYOSKEMB

scroll down for "FUND CHARGES"

I saw that but under Fund Charges there are 5 fields:
1)Fundsupermart's Discounted Initial Sales Charge,
2)Annual Management Charge,
3)Trustee Fee
4)Other Significant Fees
5)Annual Expense Ratio

Which one?
*
Only (1) concerns u, the others are calculated and reflected in the NAV valuation...i.e. u "incur" those without u knowing it.

E.g. u wanna buy RM1,000 worth of Fund ABC, Fund ABC SC = 2%, so u have to invest/pay RM1,000 + 2% = RM1,020
