hi guys,

I've been happily using my PS3 as a media player all this while. Although it plays all my non HD AVIs very well and very sharp (due to the upscaling), I find the whole process of transferring files to and fro my macbook and the PS3's external HDD a pain in the ass.

I've tried streaming with Plex but the movies I stream (non HD mind you) always chokes and stutters. I'm not sure if that's because of my stupid Unifi router or is it due to my PS3's Wireless G speed.

Will the Apple TV solve my streaming problems? if I can easily stream from my Macbook Pro (connected to my 2TB external HDD where I keep my files), then it would be a great tool to have! otherwise I might look into getting a QNAP or Synology to stream my files BUT I'm still worried about stuttering and choking...

so many things to worry about, limited budget, and don't wanna risk buying those stuffs and end up can't work well

Will Netflix be blocked/feature hidden (?) on my apple tv if I used a Malaysian ID even with unblock us ?

I think it's ok to sign in with my Us ID on apple TV whereas my other devices on Malaysian ID right?

I wanna get an Apple TV to play keynote quicktime exports in a loop.

Is that possible?

Here's what i wanna do

1. Create Keynote presentation,
2. Export as quicktime movie
3. Transfer this QT movie to my Windows PC's iTunes
4. Homeshare the QT Movie to my Apple TV
5. Display the QT movie in a loop (endless loop)

Is this possible?

Can i mirror and watch plex on my ATV3 streamed from my mac mini?

and is there a way to control my mac mini from upstairs? or will airplay mirroring be automatic?

LOL not complicated at all bro! It's a SWEET idea! i never thought of the extended display option!

But how's the quality of extended display playing Plex vs plex on ipad airplay direct to TV?

I just bought the ATV3, gonna install PlexConnect on it and if that works, then all problems solved

no worries about 5.1 or 3.1 coz I'm just using the TV speakers.

Don't need to install Plex connect. The Plex app on my iPad air plays very well. Quality is superb
