Semalam, dah jumpa nak delete "File Source". For example, gi kat Video > File > Highlight Source Which We add before & to be deleted > Press Menu (2 seconds) > Remove Source.


Lps Library dah kosong, start add source balik ngan static ID.

Anybody has used Jailbreak ATV2 + WD My Book Live (Network Attached Storage)?

I just been using a Network Attached Storage with my ATV2 and it is great.
I used a 2TB WB MyBook Live as the NAS.
It is easy to setup.

Now, I dont have
1. Waiting on Buffering
2. Faster response on start to Play and skip time.
3. No more XBMC crash due to intermediate wifi loss connection.
4. I didn't need to wake my iMac anymore to start watching video.
5. BIGGGGGG space for my media.

Now I really have a good media center at home.

Ofcourse it can't. Media Storage to store media, not streaming live event.

For guy who have ATV2 but dont want to stream from itunes or other paid services, here how to do it:

I need Jailbroken ATV3...
Got 600 movie plus thousand of TV show episode in my NAS.
Now My Jailbroken AT2 is slow as too many file in the NAS.
Also most of my movie is in 1080, so ATV2 is slow in handling them.

I'm get bored waiting for Jailbreak on ATV3 so I can install XBMC.
Maybe I should just buy a complete set of Raspberry Pi

You should not compare Netflix/Hulu with XBMC.
Netflix/Hulu is a service provider of media
XBMC is an app that enable you to stream your own media.

I used XBMC because it is free, does not depend on current internet connection & downloaded media is highly quality now (yes, its a wrong thing to do).
But I still need to provide the service on my own to setup and maintained the media library. That do not mean I didn't subscribe to Netflix/Hulu.

If you dont like such work and just want to press and play, then subscribe to the Netflix/Hulu service (which is also wrong if you in Malaysia as the service does not permitted outside US/Canada but there is always ways).

I have a Network Attached Storage, shared by several media player running XBMC in my house.
The service only required the WiFi network (not the internet).
At current point, my media library contain 650++ 1080 Movie and thousand episode of TV Shows.

Can play 1080 movie in my NAS, using XBMC.
No problem. The first buffering will take about 5-8s. Skipping ahead will be a bit slow.

That if you play it with apple tv sytem, not with xbmc.
XBMC will play it as 1080.
But my download movies file all stereo only sound. not dolby surround or digital.
Plus the movie is a compressed file.

Yes.
But there are other simple, cheaper solution.
Like WD MyBookLive. Already have 1TB, 2TB, 3TB, 4TB or 6TB or storage.
Simple, easy, low electric consumption, good operating system and cheap.

XBMC cant play 4k file on ATV2.
XBMC for ATV2 can playback most videos saved as high as 1080p.

But you are right Sir, although XBMC can play the 1080 file, it will scale it down to 720 for output it.
However the quality of scale down 1080 to 720 output is still better than 720.
You can try by playing a movie of 720 and 1080, and see the output different on screen.
YIFY usually provide 720 and 1080 movie file.
This is why I stop storing 720 movie and start having 1080 movie.
I have 2TB NAS, so from 680MB file to 1.2GB is still bearable to gain such quality.

Again, 1080 in non-DVD format (avi, mp4, mkv file) is compressed movie file and different from 1080p DVD format file in term of quality.
