Why?

1 thing for sure is that the price will not too friendly on the green side - like always.
*
yeah, price is the factor only. i will be doing bitcoin investment when i had money. i heard my brother says that Nvidia is slower in processing the bitcoin than ATi do.

anyway, mr docter still didnt sleep at 3AM? laugh.gif

GCN is a better choice for general computing compare to Kepler but bitmining with a laptop? I don't think a "regular" laptop can withstand it 24/7.
*
yeah, after some reviews and research, i found out it is not safe for bitmining on a laptop. better get myself a rig than laptop.

i am kinda disappointed with the HD8970M. the GTX780M still outperforms it a lot and the GTX770M is about on par with the HD8970M with lower price. i dont know what is AMD doing. shakehead.gif

GTX770M perform on par?  hmm.gif
*
about on par.

That's only one side of the story. The average score of HD8970M in Notebookcheck is heavily affected by the low performance of the A10 APU. If you check the scores closely, HD8970M outperform GTX770M by quite a margin when it use similar processor/system.

Obviously HD8970M can't keep with GTX780M because it is literally HD7870 vs GTX680.
*
well, the one im checking is definitely not GX70, its the one that comes with the Clevo models (aka One).

HD8970M perform in the middle of those 2 GPUs but only a tad more expensive compare to GTX770M. Not to mention it will poop on both cards when it come to GPGPU especially when more and more games is using DirectCompute/OpenCL to produce more realistic effect/lighting/physics (mostly is AMD games tongue.gif) and GCN is better than Kepler in that area.
*
well, not sure whether if i clock 50MHz higher than the stock clock, maybe i will get a similar performance like the GTX780M do. just hope AMD do a better job next year, for the HD9970M.

hi guys. i wanna ask abt the performance of these 2 laptops nvidia gpu :
GT740m (the one in Lenovo Z500) vs GT650m (the one in Asus N56VM)
games i play are dota2, starcraft2, assassin creed 3, and also preparing for upcoming GTA.
*
GT740M < GT650M DDR5
GT740M >/= GT650M DDR3

normally higher numbers indicate better performance, what AMD done is making it worse.

stick with GT720M is better.

I thought 8670m supposed to be better too. That's why I chose that model sad.gif
But 720m vs 8670m
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-8670M-vs-GeForce-GT-720M supposed to be a tie.
The one in the link is 8670m 1gb vs 2gb 720m
*
much more of a tie.

How do we know if which graphic card is running? Like whether the Optimus or Enduro is functioning the way I want it to be.
*
it is a spontaneous effect, where you cant notice. once you Alt + Tab back to desktop, it will automatically switch to Intel graphics again.

as stated on Acer's site

QUOTE
Since the switch happens automatically, it may be unclear which graphics card is being used.

Hi everyone, went to PIKOM PC Fair last weekend and saw that MSI has launched a whole new range of gaming notebooks with the Nvidia 800M series of GPU's.

But other brands are still launching 2014 models with 700M series. Does this mean something we don't know?

Is the 800M series just a rebadge? Or newer chip?

Sorry for noob question.
*
no idea. perhaps you can wait for reviews.
