btw, turbo boost and high performance setting will effect the temperature?? if both setting is on, will it double and triple the temperature compare to using only high performance setting and disable the turbo boost?

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ Dec 5 2013, 11:46 PM) I'll take 765M over 675M. Performance is about on par, but 765M consume 30% less power, which mean less heat and lower electricity bill QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ Dec 6 2013, 06:38 AM) better performance but less heat and consume less electricity |

QUOTE(briantwj @ Dec 30 2013, 12:58 AM) I've read, but it's a bit confusing. some model doesn't come with the GPU sticker... only some la.... but.. if u wan make sure your GPU is GDDR5.. thn u need GPU-ZIn addition to an older version with the GK107 chip (384 shader, 810 - 895 MHz, 128 bit memory), there also exist models with the new GK208 (384 shader, up to 980 MHz plus boost, 64 bit memory). 64 bit is newer, but it's performance is not as good as 128 bit variant. Which is confusing for me. Why Nvidia produce a 64 bit which is not as good performer compare to the 128 bit older variant? Meaning that if I wanna buy a laptop with GT740M graphic card, I can't tell from the laptop or specs sheet right? need to install GPU-Z only can confirm right? |

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Jun 7 2015, 07:08 PM) Was wondering if the discussion is dead? Anyway anyone can tell me what's the difference between GTX960 and GT960? or GT960 does not exist? mobile version, gt960m does not exist. its only gt950m.. but haven seen 1 notebook equip with that 950m... or i missed it... gtx960m on the other hand is high-entry which is gddr5 type... much better than |

QUOTE(Genexil @ Nov 10 2015, 07:12 PM) Hi guys, I apologize if this has been asked before here, about gaming and workstation cards for 3d rendering. I'm using 3dsmax for 3d renderings w/ vray and need to get a good laptop soon as my secondary system, and in another thread ppl advised me to get a quadro laptop for serious work. Sounds great, but the problem is that it costs a bomb and I have read in many other forums that high end gaming cards like the 970m/980m should be good enough. Plus you get a nice gaming laptop. yes, serious work for 3D rendering need quadro.... usually professional using this kind of card.... normally 970 is enuf... erm, the notebook is much way expensive unless you consider to build up rig. around 4k budget.. you can build good workstation for 3D rendering.Question is, is it really recommended to get a quadro? I know it handles large polygons better and saves time on rendering, but how does it affect the quality of the render when compared to gaming cards? Is there a difference in the end result? I render stills btw, for interior perspectives. But a quadro is overkill for video editing. Any GTX 9-series would do work. Quadro cards are meant for things like CAD and 3D rendering. Their specific purpose is for the best accuracy of 3D objects. If you do either of those, and money is no matter, the Quadro would be best. They are hand tested cards with drivers certified to work with certain CUDA accelerated applications. The high end Quadro cards also have lots of VRAM for large data sets. For modelers (car manufacturers or building designer), this makes the difference between splitting something to make it fit for real time rendering. and quadro is much way expensive than high end gtx 980 even 980 have more CUDA cores and higher memory bandwidth.. but, for jobs scope and wat the card can do makes the different |

QUOTE(Genexil @ Nov 11 2015, 11:27 AM) I see, how about the gtx 965m? Trying to find best bang for the buck not seems but indeed it is overkill for secondary system. Wow, that certainly cleared things out, thanks! Yeah I was considering the 970m too, just isn't sure to go for that or quadro. Quadro seems overkill for a secondary system. |

QUOTE(Genexil @ Nov 11 2015, 11:29 PM) Yeah, I heard many ppl have good experience with Illegear or Cyberforge. I'm considering either Cyberforge S-15(RM5379 DOS GTX 970M) a bit over budget btw, Gigabyte P55K v4(RM4899 GTX 965M), or MSI GE62 Apache (RM5099 GTX 965M). Dilemma is either GTX 965M or 970M since gtx970m is slightly over budget... then gtx965m shud be fine.. but reliability of da brand... and long term use i think 970 is much way better to invest... as few hundreds dffrnt.. |

QUOTE(GatsbyIT @ Jan 23 2016, 12:15 AM) If the romour reportedly 40% increase in performance is indeed true then thats really quite impressive , with likes of CPUs kinda stagnant looking for very minimal performance gain each year . well, its still rumours. 40% quite high. almost twice as its predecessor performance. this is getting interesting + fully utilised ddr4 ram... |
