I would highly recommend you to stay away from the 7970m for the time being, if you insist on getting one, get an alienware or a machine that natively uses the 7970m, with no switch-able gpus.After more extensive research in notebookreview's forum, the problem with 7970m is definitely there for laptops that have switchable gpus(excluding alienwares due to the fact that you can disable them in the bios)
I have gone with ordering the 680m mxm to replace my 670m. Its a pity for my case since the 7970m really seemed to be worth it at first sight.
