So, a friend of mine from UK used Royal Mail to post items to me in Malaysia.

But its been more than 20 working days since posted date.

The postage service he chose was the cheapest which doesn't include tracking.

Any idea how I could look for the parcel? cry.gif

Here is the receipt of postage of Royal Mail.

Item Shipped on 29th Nov 2011 still hasn't arrive till today. Fml.

Hey guys, i've made another shipment....

This time with tracking code...

I tracked at Royal Mail site and it says,

Your item, posted on 05/01/12 with reference LYxxxxxxxGB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in MALAYSIA.

I heard it can be tracked with the same code in PosLaju, am I right? But I tried in PosLaju site, all doesn't have any information on my parcel. cry.gif

mayb ur item is taxable, so got stuck at custom.
btw, if it's the cheapest postage service, mayb it takes more time to arrive. not like others that are expedited.

What if it is stuck at custom? I'm supposed to go look for it?

It's way too long since posted date for delay. 29/11/2011

Dude...the parcel could have gotten lost before reaching Malaysian shore and please don't make a general statement like that without proof. And no I don't work for Pos Malaysia biggrin.gif

True. No assumptions should be made without proof.

To the TS, without a tracking or something, accept that it's lost? I've got the same experience before sadly. =/

Erm, I would say just take it as an experience ... Always ask how long would the parcel take to reach your destination before deciding to use that Postal Service Provider. The other time I saw cheap postage from other country to Malaysia usually takes bout 3-4 weeks or more. Your mail is barely 1 week also @@''.

If you want those that took 3days to 1 week.. Then would be like Fedex but those I think cost bout few hundred depending on your weight and dimension of the item. Also, the postage can cost more than your item instead at times.

if it's from UK, be prepared to wait about a month. With all the holidays (Christmas, NY, CNY over here in Malaysia etc) be prepared to wait even longer.

Because there's no tracking number, it'll be impossible to get anyone to do anything for you, so if even in a few months the parcel still hasn't reached you, you'll just have to accept your loss lo. That's the big con about using normal mail, as since there's no way to track it, there's no way to find out where it is or pin responsibility on someone.

You can still track it under the royal mail's track & trace system. smile.gif

the final message if successfully delivered would be
Your item, posted on 29/09/11 with reference LYXXXXXXXXXGB was delivered in MALAYSIA on 11/10/11.

Nope...not really. From my experience post from UK usually arrive in Malaysia 1-2 weeks. Earliest I receive a few times in within 7 days. And that's normal post and I don't have problems parcel lost either. Maybe I'm lucky I don't know. Compared to US normal post...delivery takes 3-5 weeks and I got a couple of times parcel lost as well tongue.gif

But due to long holidays like you mentioned most post deliveries all over the world will experience some delay. whistling.gif
