Joining a clan may or may not help.. I don't think it's very necessary unless you've got no friends within your circle who plays StarCraft frequently.. Just keep playing and watch a metric tonne of replays to get a rough idea on how to play your race with a sufficient dosage of Day9 awesomeness..
