is it just my Arc being laggier with this latest firmware update? (2.3.4 v4.0.2.A.0.62)
Seems like all the shortcuts in the home screens reloads/refresh each and everytime I've used Facebook & Twitter.

Earlier version only refresh when I used the browser & youtube for a quite some time.

Need ICS cepat2 nih. hmm.gif

Noob question.

Currently I'm on ICS 4.0.4 build 4.1.B.0.431 on my Arc.
Can it be root without unlocking bootloader?

Thank you. notworthy.gif

succesfully rooted without unlocking bootloader. rclxm9.gif

Deleted some useless apps and my Arc is smoother.

Installed Xperia S' Home Launcher, widgets and Music player and it looks so good.
Now configuring how to enable the Clear Bass on the music player.

What else can I tweak when rooted? Serious noob here. sweat.gif

1)custom theme like xperia s
2)custom notification bar
3)edit system apps
4)mod apps like camera and sound enhancement
5)v6 supercharger (xtra boost your phone)
6)link 2sd , unlimited apps  (mem card is your limit)
7)the list goes on....... thumbup.gif

Thank you for the tips.

Another noob question.

Can locked bootloader rooted ICS 4.0.4, flash .zip file using CWM?

It seems like our device was not on their supported device list.
Any help?

TQ. notworthy.gif

A lil' help.
Finally decided to unlock bootloader after a year using Arc. Lulz! sweat.gif

Tried to flash a custom ROM into my Arc.
1st attempt was the Jelly Sandwich 5.0 + ArcKnight Kernel.
Phone keep on restarting.
After doing some research, it seems like the kernel was not compatible with the ROM (although it was recommended and provided in the thread. doh.gif )

Then I'm off to my 2nd attempt which was Jelly Sandwich 5.0 + DoomKernel.
This time the phone starts and performed well. But with ni WIFI. shocking.gif
Flash the WIFI module multiple times with CWM, but no luck.

And earlier morning, I flashed Ice Bean X 4.3 with DoomKernel, still no WIFI after reflashing the module. hmm.gif

Update : Flashed XArc kernel and wifi module, still doesn't work.

Any help? icon_question.gif
Thank you. notworthy.gif

what your last rom, gb or ics ...if from gb need flash official ics rom(latest 587) first through flashtool...maybe you got baseband issue...

The last one before I install the custom ROM was ICS 4.1.B.0.587.

At last the WiFi issue has been solved.

At first I tried to flash different baseband while still maintaining DoomKernel.
From baseband 77 till 64, no luck. Worst even the GSM not not working at some certain point. shocking.gif

On the next attempt to gain the GSM back, I tried XArc kernel with baseband 72 and guess what, it works.
GSM is back, so does the WiFi. I'm a happy custom ROM user now. rclxms.gif

Thank you guys for the tips. icon_rolleyes.gif
