bro, you should try the ICS cos I'm using it now and it definitely much better than Gingerbread version with some good performance, like no more lagging, better camera input, better RAM, etc...

Good luck!

here i'm sharing some tips for ICS user to optimize the smoothness and customize your phone..
(unroot arc/s can perform tip no. 2 & 3)

1. changing the stock bar with this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540084
(make sure to remove LED Flashlight and Brightness in status bar - to prevent draining battery)

2. use 3rd party dialer (it fast when opening phone/dialer) :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...ut.dialer&hl=en

3. doing this tricks to make it faster and smooth :
setting > developer option > window annimation scale > annimation off
setting > developer option > transition annimation scale > annimation off

4. remove some apk for saving memory and RAM (refer this thread for the list):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614761

hope this tips can help you.. smile.gif

i tried the Arc S official ICS, and besides the new look, I got less fluid movement and less RAM. i reverted back to Gingerbread. but at least i can say to myself that i had tried it, though i did not like it that much.

How come you have less RAM? mine got more RAM than previous version. It feel much quicker now and better response. Perhaps you have too many apps right? My RAM now left over about 190mb.

nope bro as much as possible i rely on built in app. its ok, everyone has unique experiences, which makes android interesting. actually i am waiting for the official ICS for Arc (LT15) and i will try again.

for now, i am happy with Gingerbread Xperia S ROM on Arc.

For me stock ICS 4.0.3 still have bug and not so smooth like GB..I had using custom ICS with heavily tweak to optimise the performance.. :-)
Hopefully next update 4.0.4 will wipe up all that bug..

your warranty will void if you unlocked bootloader..
flashing ROM will absolutely wipe up your data..make sure to back up first before flash it..

nordic generic is release for specification nordic region country (denmark, norway, etc..)
the different for eg. some app that compatible with that country will include inside it..

flashing is a process for replace anything like ROM, kernel, etc..

make it short to easy understanding..if your bootloader still locked you cannot install any Custom ROM and others..smile.gif
