Wenger on what he said to Henry before he went on...

I just told him where he plays, because he can play on the flanks or through the middle. I told him to play through the middle. He did not know who was coming off. For the rest, you don't need to tell him too much.

Francis Coquelin has a hamstring injury and he is out for a few weeks.

I haven't decided yet. Robin will be back against Swansea. Will Thierry start or not? I don't know yet. He can play behind or in front of Robin or on the flank, Robin can play on the flank too, but I don't know yet what I will do. They can play together, of course, and they did play together.

Arsenal hero Martin Keown says Thierry Henry was still in his kit an hour after the final whistle for their win over Leeds United.
Henry was still getting his head around his winner on his emotional comeback.
Keown said: "When I saw Thierry Henry after the game on Monday night, he was stunned. It was more than an hour after the final whistle and he was still in his kit, looking around and trying to take in what he had just done.

Bacary Sagna is back in full training. Many players who are not specialist right backs have been playing in this position so we are relieved to have Bacary back.

on Mikel Arteta…
He is very close to full training, Thierry Henry as well.

on Kieran Gibbs…
He will be back to full training on Monday. He will certainly not be involved at all on Sunday.

on Francis Coquelin…
He is back in the squad, he is available. That makes him, Henry, Bacary and Arteta back in contention for the squad.

on Jack Wilshere…
He has had a little setback that is under investigation at the moment so I cannot give you how long he will be out for. At the moment he is seeing a specialist and as soon as we know more we will communicate. It sets him back a little bit but for how long I don't know.  It is the same foot but a different problem to the injury he had surgery on back in September. But is it an inflammation? We have to wait a little bit.

on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain…
He is alright, it was just fatigue. His calf was not gone or anything like that, he just started to tire a little bit. It is normal for a guy who plays a game at that intensity. But health-wise he has no problem. He will be involved on Sunday.

on Johan Djourou…
He has still not practiced today. It is a small hamstring problem - but a minor one.

on the overall position...
At the moment, many players are on their way back. I will have to decide on Saturday, I have to look at them and see how much of a gamble I can take because we play again on Wednesday. Gibbs will certainly not be involved at all on Sunday, but the others could be involved. That will be decided tomorrow.

Aside from the signing of young midfielder Thomas Eisfeld from Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal have been typically quiet this deadline day. But before you Gunners fans out there start chanting for Arsene Wenger to spend some, er, money, I'm asking you nicely to read what Wayne Veysey has to say about possible departures and arrivals at the Emirates Stadium:

"Arsenal supporters are not going to get that "miracle" signing, unless you consider a teenage German midfielder, who is yet to make a first-team appearance, to be in that category. But club officials have nevertheless been busy today.

"I understand that Thomas Eisfeld has passed his Arsenal medical and will complete his move from Borussia Dortmund later today. Discussions are ongoing with Bolton Wanderers to loan Ryo Miyaichi for the rest of the season and this deal should also go through before the deadline.

"There will be no new strikers coming in to take the weight off Robin van Persie's shoulders. I am told that Arsenal have rejected an approach from Fulham to sign Park Chu-Young on loan until the summer. As for Andrey Arshavin, there has been an approach from moneybags Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala but any deal is a long, long way off. Expect that to be a slow burner."

Wenger - I’m considering resting Van Persie

Arsène Wenger is considering how best to utilise his striking options ahead of Saturday’s match against Blackburn - and that could mean a rest for Robin van Persie.

The captain has started 11 of Arsenal’s past 12 matches - scoring seven goals - but his manager admits he is “tempted” to rotate for the match at Emirates Stadium.

“I will rotate a little bit because many players have given a lot,” said Wenger. “[With Van Persie] the temptation is there.

“We are in a situation at the moment where he is the main goalscorer, so I will maybe have to build a team that works around him.”

Wenger will not field Marouane Chamakh against Blackburn after the striker returned from the Africa Cup of Nations, but he could use Theo Walcott up front if Van Persie is rested.

“We have [Ju Young] Park, Thierry Henry, we have Walcott who wants to play through the middle - he has not done it,” he said.

“We have not done it but we always have adapted. Thierry Henry at the start was not a centre forward, Robin van Persie was not a centre forward, so we’ll see what we do if it happens.

“But Chamakh is back. No [he is not ready to play]. He should be in today because they have 48 hours to be back after the competition, but I will not use him tomorrow.”
