What a fist touch. What a finish.
He's still got it.

I dunno if it's just me, but as the season goes on I'm feeling Szczesny isn't all that he's talked up to be. He's a bit of the opposite of Almunia/Fabianski, in that he controls his area well and organizes his defenders, very verbal as well, but as a shot-stopper? I feel there have been numerous occasions where he should have saved shots that instead went in. He's made some stunning saves, but he's let in some dubious ones as well. In fact if I'm not mistaken he has one of the lowest saves-to-shots ratio in the league.

I'm not saying Woj is our biggest worry, far from it, but he does sometimes lack that extra inch required when making a stop, and I don't think his reflexes are that great. Almunia is better in this regard. Would I replace Woj with Almunia/Fabianski? Hell no, but just saying. He's far better than that De Gea chap, of course.
The gradual decline can only be attributed to the manager and/or the board. It's been coming ever since the Invincibles went past their prime and Wenger refused to re-stock the squad with quality players. I mean, look at the interest we have in Kalou, he's an inconsistent but decent player, and many fans will take him over the current Arshavin, but is that enough? We should be replacing Arshavin with a great player, not someone who is equal or only slightly better. It's the same thing with Benayoun, squad player at best. You can't hope to win trophies if you accumulate what the other title contenders reject. 6 years ago, even if we couldn't compete salary-wise, ARSENAL the club itself was a draw. We played fantastic football, players would come for that, we had stars that could convince other stars to come. That has steadily declined over the past few years. This did not happen over night or over one season. The coffin wasn't nailed shut, it was slowly screwed shut over a period of time. Wenger bought himself some time by signing a few players on the last transfer deadline day, but that was a temp reprieve. He's got to bring in players immediately or he's not gonna last. Can you imagine how pissed Gooners are gonna be when spurs finish above us? |

True, Wenger was never a tactician. But last night we were beaten at our own game, not by Barca, but by Swansea.
And I still dunno wtf is it with us and our injuries. |
