In my opinion, forte is way out of this segments league. Sometimes when I hear people comparing forte with civic/Altis, it makes me giggle. To me, it is more in city/dugong(vios)'s range but with a 2.0 engine advantage. When you compare avante, do it with civic or Altis. You don't go comparing a c-class with a Camry.

Back to the topic, I believe SD is really doing a bad job launching this car despite all the hello impossible crap. Yes the car is nice and all that but what are they doing on the service centers? People who boast how great sonata was, at the end of the day the volume sold is still low but of course improved. Same goes to forte. What I am trying to say is to strengthen the brand, they should improve on their 3s centers and make it convenient. Honda and Toyota is like dell. A lot of people hate it but still buy it as their after service is great.

For me they are very dull to drive (except crz which i never try yet)... cvt gearbox kill all the power feeling and the rubber band effect in annoying. Then their brakes are real weird as well...
*
i've tried the crz before when it first launched and im (my mum) is waiting for the cvt version to arrive. firstly, ill be comparing the crz with civic 1.8 (in terms of power) and it is faster then civic in sports mode but just in the starting range and not the race to the top speed. handling, imo feels like a smaller GTi. Design wise, i have nothing to say thumbup.gif . yes, it uses plastic inside but it aint the ones you see in forte or city etc. it feels solid and the black coloured interior helps as well. gotta hand it down to honda on this zippy mobile. The downside is, well a 'coupe'. Dont expect anyone above 160cm to fit behind. And, alot of blind spots lol.

yea. just like vw, they might be boring and very dull looking in the interior. but engineering know-how and handling is not easy to master by other company.

by changing an outlook doesnt mean the car will turn to god like.

civic is successful because, auntie/uncle will buy it for reliability, young man will buy it for sporty look, ricer will buy it for handling part, very young man will buy it to show off due to honda badge, also not forgetting, the RESALE value.

from the above, the elantra has this, good looking exterior, and (hopefully) relatively lower price.
*
haha if you are really in the higher society, there's nothing to show off with a Honda badge, not even an Accord. Hmm yes, VW's interior are dull but at least they have the consistency to remain classy. Civic... well the current one did impress me when it first launched and probably set my hopes too high for the 2012 civic. But no doubt, its a pretty reliable car because im driving one. I am initially thinking of changing to the new Avante since everyone in my family is changing cars lol but all this hoohaa made me think twice.

Note the word, Very young man biggrin.gif a fresh grad driving a civic will draw envious look from peers biggrin.gif

haha yeah girls definitely can drive it. As for you, if you are currently driving a 'powerful' car then you will be slightly disappointed with CRz but nevertheless a fun car. Im waiting to steal my mum's too hahaha.

hmm true that. one thing i regret about buying civic is it is EVERYWHERE. pfft but oh well, not that i have the cash to import a veyron cry.gif

i'm currently driving a 2 liter car, will i be dissapointed for crz power? how does it fare with your civic , power wise.

seriously need a test drive biggrin.gif
*
my civic is just 1.8 and like i said, CRZ can tapau maybe 0-60? then to 100 probably lose around 1-2 seconds. so you can only tapau people in traffic light icon_rolleyes.gif if you are driving a 2.0 and then i would say you'll be disappointed but since its a 1.5 so lets be fair as well hahaha . i like cars that have the pull back factor when you floor the pedal and crz gave me a mini-orgasm. lol

civic good RV mah, so any regrets in buying it still will reward you with enough decent residual cash to buy another new model with every turn of the model change...  biggrin.gif  you buy low RV car might end up using it for 2 generations model change..  tongue.gif

my 1.3L car also won't dissapointed if compared to your 2L car power wise..  brows.gif

RV is the only reason i got the Civic back then since i've just got into a stable job. In Malaysia, RV will always be a big factor as we don't get cars as cheap as in the US. If you are actually working, its easy for you to say 'nah, i dont mind buying a Hyundai. Any car will lose its value after 10 years.' but believe me, when you want to decide on buying it, you will think twice or thrice. RV is one of the factors that is holding me back from buying the new avante. The fact that you may lose up to 10k (assumption) a year makes my pocket shiver haha.

Maybe they are trying to learn from VW. VW already standardised their HU few years back. But then those standardised HU is great for cost saving but don't look well integrated into the dashboard. VW even share the whole aircon control panel across segment, making their interior more and more boring.
*
i reckon but perhaps personal taste. as boring as they are, they remain their standard and classy look in most of their cars except polo maybe. can most of the carmakers do that? even sonata's interior is ugly (personal opinion) and feels cheap.

I dont like the Sonata front face.. sweat.gif

yea, the grill is too much overkill lol. in my opinion, the current generation (malaysia) camry has the most balanced outlook compared to all d segments. accord's back is too bulky, teana is good but don't really like it's behind. mazda 6 is personal and instead of balanced look i think it is the most sporty one among all.

all above is true until KIA K5 came out biggrin.gif too cool but hate the rims !
