Latest price indication I got from SD staff was the range would be between 90k-110k. That means the standard auto would be more a less close to 100k.

I'm deciding whether to keep waiting or proceed with Kia Forte, which is decent enuf for me, any idea? Pls help.

Just wait for the official launch and pricing, I find every salesman has his own price, so really can't tell what's the actually price.

IMHO RM110k is way to high for this car, you run the risk of SD giving massive discounts to push it out of showrooms in the next coming months.

Forte is a safe choice, resale values should be not too bad b/c lots of Forte on the road now. My 1.6SX is almost 2 years, no problems at all tongue.gif

Thanks bro, the thing is I'm entitled to some staff discount (at least 3k). Still temping enuf for me.... cry.gif

To hell with the waiting, I guess it's time I consider something else since the price may not be attractive after all. I'm seriously considering the below cars, anyone care to share some thoughts?

1. Ford Fiesta - Test drived, not bad... nod.gif but I'm really worried with the after sales issue... sweat.gif (Entitled to Staff discount RM4,000 + car loan Interest subsidy)
2. Kia Forte - No promotion but I still find it worth the penny thumbup.gif
3. Peug 308T - Fell in love with it the moment I step on the peddle... wub.gif really enjoy driving it! But I share the same concern like Ford Fiesta.. sad.gif (Offered with Overtrade RM10,000 but still expensive la...)
4. Or cont to wait for Elentra... wink.gif (Entitled to Staff discount RM4,000 + car loan Interest subsidy)

My budget is only up to RM90,000. Now if u were me, which one would u go for, and why? unsure.gif

Thanks all sifu in advance!

forte all the way, cause it is a ban chien kuih. you know the thing that is cheap and has everything in it. hehe...

otherwise if P3-21A comes out, and you fall in love with it, maybe that one you may  consider also, unless you have a no P policy, so cannot help here.

but Fiesta is small and tight. but worth the money for the ride. i love it too. but i would not worry about resale value as you already got staff discount.

308T coming with new facelift soon, plus a little bit sensitive lah. sometimes will get angry with you for no reason, but it does give you plenty of pleasure and orgasms when u are using it.

as for the elantra, nice, cool, but getting on everyones nerves, but anyway it will come somehow, maybe tomorrow u will see the car in Mid valley leh, who knows. only thing here if at 90k you could probably get a 1.6 from forte but u may not be able to get a elantra,

so if you can, wait loh, wait and wait and wait.

Thanks bro! Good advise. My bet is after the launch of Elentra, Forte may come out with promotion (cross my finger). Oh, not to mention the 5 years (unlimited millage) warranty, that's a sweet treat for a heavy driver like me. thumbup.gif

U're right on spot about P3-21A, I am indeed a no P policy holder. sweat.gif

Wah, I'm guessing you're working in a subsidiary of SD?

1) Fiesta. Good for ladies. Cramped for men. Resale value? Not good.

2) Forte. Value for money, solid car with not much problems. RV quite ok, better or on par with Mazda and Nissan.

3) 308T. Mechanical problems aplenty. The French were never reliable. Not even with a German engine. RV ok la.

4) Elantra. Untested. The 1.6 is the slowest among these 4 cars in question. The 1.8 is better but won't be cheap. However since you have a staff discount and subsidized int rate I don't see why not.

Yea working in one of the subsidiary, so it would be kinda stupid not to utilize the company benefit.

Actually I pity my fellow colleagues in Motor group, I'm sure they're as pissed as we do now having our lovely gomen pressuring them on INCREASING the price.... well, at least that's what I believe. unsure.gif

Didn't you saw the previous post mentioned it may be barricated? If yes, then wat's the point? doh.gif

Anyway, will definitely travel down to MV this weekend to have a look. Who knows, maybe love at first sight? wub.gif

Sad news to share with u guys. Apparently, Sime wanted to price Elantra in a competitive figure like Forte. However, ALL THREE price submission to MITI was REJECTED!!! Mind u, each submission went in with higher... higher... and higher price but till date, still NOT APPROVED!!! doh.gif

It's absolutely fair to comment that this lovely car falls into the worst timing for clashing with the upcoming Potong. Gomen seems to hold their position strong not allowing foreign car to threaten our beloved Potong. This solo reason is enuf to cast my vote away.... vmad.gif I pity Sime for this as I know they really wanted to do it right this time.... I still remember attending last year town hall and the chief of motor group reassure us that "this Elantra will beat Forte hands down!". So Ironic! sweat.gif

SAD SAD SAD. I've decided to go with Fiesta, hope I'm doing the right decision... hmm.gif

SIme still playing the BS of "I want to price it lower, but Govt wont let" card? Anyone actually believe this?  hmm.gif

Well, I do believe that. Just can't imagine any other reason other than this which could caused the non-ending delay. wink.gif
