the only scam you should be afraid of are dubious links that could steal your account and people trying to rip you off

click on it, fill in some blanks then BAM, they got your details

malware,spyware,keylogger those kind of stuff

but with steam guard they cant get your steam account unless somehow they got their hands on your email as well

how to prevent this

-have receipts in your computer, for verification if your account really got stolen
-keep your email safe, its like the key to everything
-steam staff will never contact your through chat
-before clicking on any link, on bottom left of your web browser(depends) it will show the real site
-dont believe steam giving away free games unless its verified
-common sense
