ah crap!

I left it and played TF2 and just checked no progress at all! mad.gif

I even transfered all the backup datas on both discs onto my harddrive and still no progress?? what? I need to click install from Steam first then only I can backup from DVD???

Added on January 6, 2012, 11:33 pmcheck this,

with these kind of options in both discs, what should I click???

I've clicked the damn steambackup.exe and nothing happens (as in the game is not installing what so ever).

Right now, I just a dig a hole and for me to jump in and be buried alive. I clicked Install from Steam client and now steam is downloading the game instead of me (should have been) doing the easy way of backing up the game so that I dont have to waste time downloading. Ive just wasted my money getting the dvd from Deimos..

Or did the file corrupted???

I dont know what else I can do.. Steam sucks. sad.gif

Steam client > Steam (top left small menu) > Backup and Restore Games... > Restore a previous backup.

Ive tried countless time. It will eventually popup a window asking to backup game. Clicked everything and it will eventually stuck at 'Creating local game cache.... ' and just there. The progress bar is not moving even left there for more than an hour. I think the backup file is corrupted?

one more thing, I always get Error in connection (connection timeout) each time repeating the backup game sequence. Why is that? Ive logged on to Steam tho. hmm.gif

sucks man.. now I am downloading it instead. Another friggin 4 hours to go.. shakehead.gif

Try restoring manually as how the guy above me pointed out

Steam can go not responding when it restores something , just wait , sometimes it takes super long. The way to determine is look at your DVD Drive , does it read , any I/O ?

Ive tried it countless time. sleep.gif

DVD drive is working fine and Ive transferred both discs files onto my hdd in a specific folder so that I dont have to change the discs. With all that, its still not working. shakehead.gif
