QUOTE(siaokia1 @ Feb 8 2012, 09:37 PM)
Hey guys. Had a big service day today. Just to share on my 70k km service this morning done at Proton Edar Mutiara Damansara.

Petronas Syntium 1000 - RM185
Oil filter - RM12.22
Gasket drain plug - RM3.32
Screen wash - RM5.71
ATF - RM119.84
Oil filler cap - RM35.74

Total after adding in labour is RM457.25
Also changed tyres today @ Lim Tyre in Desa Sri Hartamas.

4 pieces Continental ContiComfortContact CC5 @ RM240 each. Added alignment (balancing included in the price) @ RM40.

Car feels good after being serviced nicely. Still wanna change my suspension. If anyone knows the part number for the original shock absorber would be great.

Been recommended to change to R3 ones. Does anyone know how much it is for full set of R3 suspension? Will it lower my ride? For me important is the comfort and usability so prefer not to have the ride height lowered.

Also, anyone done timing belt service yet? For CPS is it done @ 80k km or 100k km? Forgot to ask at CC this morning....
*
For timing belt it's the 80k service. Prepare RM1K at least. To be safe you should bring more. Mine was over RM1K. I'm also looking to replace my absorber. But lack money at the moment. That's what happen when you forgot to do what's important first. I install amp in my car when I should have use that money to replace the absorber.

Thanks bro!

Added on February 8, 2012, 10:52 pm

I know the feeling man. But 1k min for timing belt change is scary!! :S Maybe I should start saving.
Another question for everyone. My CPS has the 5 year warranty. I understand that it is actually 3+2. I'm actually already into my extended warranty period. Was planning to move on to a different mechanic (non panel) after I've done the timing belt service. Any comments?
*
3+2 is years. for mileage mine is 150k. Don't know if the same with other owners. Warranty extended is for engine and transmission. It's covered by insurance not Proton. If there's problem insurance will cover the warranty claims. Go outside your warranty is gone. I encourage service outside if want save money even when I myself still loyal to proton sc for the past 3++ years.

QUOTE(markiliz @ Feb 8 2012, 11:15 PM)
due to 40k service soon...how much do i need to prepare?
*
Rm400-500 should be right. Probably plus minus a bit. Some I think did it below 400. Mine was a little bit over 400. Forget exact amount. I'm doing my 3rd 40k soon edi @ 120k service.

eh my mileage is 119k only. Going for my 120k service soon. 150k will be the end of my extended warranty. tongue.gif
But nowadays rempit every day so save alot of car mileage. Last year was crazy. Sometime just 2 weeks after service already reach 5000km. that's why i maintain using full synthetic oil.

Huhu..wrong judgement. I thought after car infront of PE swith lane it accelerate normally, but no, it go all out instead sweat.gif.

Our 4th gear is long right? Can reach 180kmj with 4th?
*
4th can reach 180 then after that no more. PE manual isn't slow by any means. 3rd gear till redline is mandatory. That car probably drop to 3rd and pacak all the way. If you driven a PE you'll notice somewhat longer gear ratio compared to cps. After this try the myvi SE pulak tongue.gif .

Yesterday I layan Ah beng Vios at MEX highway. That car can go more than 180kmh weh.... sweat.gif luckily my Waja is manual and I think his is auto plus Vios is not 'cilok' friendly laugh.gif  Else he already put me to shame sweat.gif

Added on February 25, 2012, 1:13 pmand after I reached the toll I was thinking how pathetic I am that Waja CPS can only match with a Dugong sleep.gif  but always think that CPS is far superior than any cars in its class.. damn.. I think P3-21A will be the only solution (for on budget people like me.. huhu)
*
dugong, myvi, viva that's what terrorizing the roads. Of all those i'm max piss off when cucuk by a viva. Just because they bought a viva elite doesnt make their cars faster. Thankfully a lot of myvi 1.5 i met is auto so no problem so far winning against them.

QUOTE(kobe10 @ Feb 25 2012, 03:38 PM)
Always met with lots of ah beng vios but no one dares to challenge when pass by them. May be they afraid of the word CPS or the dori dori sticker.. hahaha... Is kinda good to have doris racing sticker, some may think that this car must be tuned already. In fact, my car is the stock car with only adjustable and sport rims and straight flow muffler. wahahahaa... i kena smoke by myvi before.. dont know how he do that on straight road...
*
Kuantan, teluk intan, johor bahru, karak. I always find vios especially trd that think they're king of the road. I show them alright what useless vios trd they just bought which main purpose in Japan is for ladies fetching their children from school. You should go outstation more often hehehe. They're definitely out there. May the force be with you. If you find them on karak highway make sure full tank coz most probably you'll be doing 180-200 all the way from karak to gambang exit to outrun a persistent vios hehehe. Be prepare for saman also cry.gif . A lot of experience on LPT especially. It's quite fun being on the road you can play with alot of cars that willing to play too. tongue.gif

Can control cps opening? Tot cps is mechanical based function that cannot be adjusted.  hmm.gif
*
Wah interesting topic. how can you set the opening for CPS? Using piggyback can ah? I think bro sexbomb at 3.6 rpm will be quite nice. What if set cps earlier at 3.2 or 3.4k rpm? Our gen2 waja I think is 3.8 rpm isn't. While neo is 4.4k rpm if i'm not mistaken.

Bro Triplej104 I've tried all that road you've mentioned. QUite nice for leisure drive. Hardcore drive plz becareful. At least 3 times when I'm driving there, idiots driving fast want to race me that I just let pass ends up accidents. Safety first bro when driving on those roads. Jerangau road to terengganu also unwise to drive fast if you're unfamiliar with it.

Hmmm my car has travel really far these past 3 half years. All around the peninsular. Really proud of it. Who says owning Proton is no good. I think like me cps owner here quite satisfied with their car. Though Proton common problems is noise from who knows where. I no longer care where the noise comes already.

so cheap the labour cost? SC or normal workshop?
I couldn't afford to let go my warranty. Sometimes I travel 5000km in just 1 month sweat.gif Some more, I have accident record. At least if anything happen I can use the warranty biggrin.gif

But still I want to give credit to the EON Glenmarie. Finally my tak tak sound whenever I do hard corner (left side only) is gone. And also the tak tak sound when do right u-turn. Last time I used to send to Proton Edar Sri Muda. 2 kali service, 2 kali ignored my complaint  mad.gif
*
Same with me. Still faithfully service at sc.
My record was 5000km in just 2 weeks last year in December last year.

auto need backpressure. Diff setup from manual. Maybe can bring back the backpressure by rearranging the bullet. Maybe put 2 bullets on the piping.

can i know what is the diff between 5-40 n 10-40? fully n semi? why most ppl choose semi over fully? which is provide more benefit? tq
*
semi cheaper thats why people usually go for semi. Some engine also cant use fully or semi when their engine makan minyak. Have to use mineral. Castrol magnatec can last for 8k km. Quite bang for buck. 5w40 10w40 0w40 is viscosity of the oil. My own understanding is the front no shows how well the oil protects engine during coldstart. Its not that important here compared to countries with winter season.

400 per tyre but trade in got 120 for s drive not bad. But t1r not as good as s drive. Maybe not worth that price except like s drive it's imported directly from japan. Many tyres now from thailand lah, philippine lah indonlah but expensive. After this want to try nexen pulak.

Hi there. I'm new to this group. I have a 2010 Gen2 CPS (M) registered in 2011. Mods are: R3 cat back exhaust system (have not done the header), Works Engineering filter and NGK iridium plugs. Glad to meet you all.
*
Err why skip the header bro? That's where the real power is hidden. Or you're concern about the environment. The last batch of rxz also have catalyzers so some rempit guys out there in environmental friendly too. tongue.gif

Was thinking it may affect the warranty as I still have one more year to go. This is considering that it removes the catalytic converter and also that it has some sensors in there. I may add it in if you guys say it is ok. I will definitely get the R3 version to complete the collection.
*
I did my exhaust before my car reaches 10K. For my car I know that it doesn't affect the engine warranty and gearbox. If my gearbox is kong wth it gotta do with my exhaust. Engine is a different concern coz it does connect to the exhaust. But I think if you did the r3 full system it doesn't affect warranty isn't. Eh when you decide to put the whole system in can you do dyno? Not directly after installing exhaust like I did in 2008. That was a mistake. Do it after 3 months maybe so that the result is more correct. Immediately after installing the exhaust I went for dyno. 6 month after that did another dyno and there's 4hp difference.

high rev 3rd gear can chase back again..
then 4th gear can bye exora.. flex.gif

I've played with preve when it was testing in Kuantan. Confirm lose because it accelerates like wtf. But not mini cooper quick. I would say quick as in a 2 litre car. Had to redline at 3rd and then 4th gear it's on again. If it's auto seriously no hope at all coming close to the preve when it accelerates. I can only imagine if there's a manual cfe. I don't think i even bother to play la knowing how quick it would be.

And I dont mind to break the law in Cheras hahaha lesen agong ma.
Kena tahan, call bapak aku sudah. Confirm lepas laugh.gif

Btw,
Archilles ATR Sport - RM200
Goodyear F1 Directional 5 - RM390
Kumho KU31 - RM275 (take 4 pcs price RM250/pcs)
Michelin PS3 - RM460
Nexen N6000 - RM288
Yokohama A-drive - RM230

Any feedback about the Kumho?
*
Go for kumho bro. For it's price I even say that it's just a little below the performance of my current T1r. Total dissapoinment with t1r. if tight budget achilles is good enough. nexen n6000 is on par with A drive r1. ps3 you know la how good it is already. Never tried goodyear yet. A drive is below achilles. If temporary tyres i think achilles la will be good enough. Why not consider S drive? At least once in a lifetime you got to try s drive hehehe. Usually after 1 time people wont go for 2nd time tongue.gif . If I knew you were looking for tyres I'd sell my s drive to you. Just change last saturday. Shop takes my s drive 120 per piece. I would sell to friend lower than that.

COme to think of it you interested in my kumho? Just 10 k mileage. Still got money to change 2 set of tyres. But not sure la when I'm coming to kl again. If you don't want it's ok. Shop will still give high trade in value for it.

Once in a lifetime try s drive la. king of noisy tyres hehehe. But dry grip for me better than ps3 and on par with re001. Wet grip not that good the s drive.

Ah yes the kumho. rm100 per piece can? 10 k mileage and install december 2011. Why changing it? Recalculate my money and seems like i can afford another set of tyres. drool.gif Thank god didn't change all 4 tyres to t1r. At least now i can put the t1r to the back and put other tyres in front. But dunno when going to kl. Just went there last weekend.

U should be looking at the ku36 la...not ku31

Price for 16" i dunno
*
ku36 would be entering semi slick already with its 180 threadwear. Although not as extreme as r1r with 140 rating. Dry grip would be sepang level but wet grip??? if its semi slick ad08 is king. Skip all and go for the king.

There is not much choice for a budget sub 200 16 inch tyre here. Add 50 profile to that and you get even limited choice. c drive2? not available in 50 profile. v12? 45 profile got. V12 isnt as good as ku31 anyway. At least thats what i felt since tried both korean tyres. Nexen is another korean tyres that is quite unknown here. I don't know if i'll ever try a nexen tyres. 50 they got the n6000 which is on par with a drive R1. Since A drive R1 not that good so nothing from nexen to choose. Right now I'm thinking of re002. But the price makes me feel like want to demam for a week. That's too much a price for a tyre. For 205/50/16 either budget or the premium. not much in between.

[quote=mADmAN,Apr 20 2012, 01:59 AM]I have friends whacking the ku36 on a daily basis..n they say the wet grip is pretty good...n this coming from a regular track kaki...wear rate is good too...even with multiple track use n daily shah alam-kl-shah alam, they last a lil over a year. Another friend uses for almost weekly kuantan-kl-kuantan also lasts for a lil over a year. N these guys are pretty heavy footed with their dc5s

Ad08 king of semi slick??? R u sure???

Ad08 king of SEMI SLICK?????????????????????? Waaaaahahahahahaha

Theyre not even in the semi slick category...theyre in ultra high performance (uhp) which is NOT semi slicks...theyre just over priced like hell street tires...theres semi slicks cheaper than the ad08.

Feel free to google up megalap tire list...theyve listed out tires considered semi slicks (which follows the world time attack tire list)

N since some ppl dun understand the diff between street tire n semi slicks, theyve made a list of street tires as well....here: http://megalap.com/2012/02/13/street-tyres...non-exhaustive/

Ad08 listed as street tires

Sori bro i know nothing la about tyres. my mistake. No knowledge no nothing. I no young gun, entering old guy era. I think I rephrase the ad08 as the best street tires that can be used on track also. Perhaps the same uhp performance from bridgestone is re01r? From googling it seems ad08 have quite a good wet grip compared to the previous ad07. For yokohama the semi slick would be advan a048 and toyo would be r888. Bridgestone is re55? As expensive as street tyres are, superbike tyres are so much more.
