"The dynamic nature of the track means that the personal best lap time you set in one 'sim day' may never be repeated, as the conditions on the next 'sim day' may never tie-up with your setup, just as it doesn't in real-life ".

It wont only just abt the car physics anymore. It about how u change towards the changing weather and how you handle your car.

The Open Beta release of rFactor 2 is quickly closing in and to shorten the remaining waiting time, ISI has released some new details on what’s included in the beta.

While the beta comes with limited content (as outlined here), there’s no shortage of features as ISI’s Scott Juliano has confirmed the following features to be available in the beta:

Single Player
Multi Player
Developer mode
Development Tools
What Documentation we have for those tools to date (in the WIP state)
Rain
Wet/Dry track transition
Dynamic track elements (Groove/Marbles)
New Tire Model
New physics
New Collision
HDR (with other Post FX to come)
Access to beta updates and new/updated content as they become available

Some of the features are not fully complete, hence the beta status. ISI expects the beta phase to last around six months, that’s why beta users will be receiving an additional six months of online account service to make sure they don’t use up their 12 months before regular customers come in.

Interestingly, ISI is willing to offer a refund to beta users who are unhappy with what they’re receiving, lowering the risk for sim racers interested in giving the beta a shot.

In terms of the all-important “when?” question, ISI has once again stated that all depends on the successful testing of the release candidate. According to Scott Juliano, “early January” would be a realistic time frame so sim racers should stop holding their breath waiting for the beta to become available within the hour – It’s still a few days away.

Yes, this game is one of most anticipated racing sim for quite some time, expected to release around Q4 this year but was shifted to further date. At least they have updated the game status.

How much is the price again?

It's another sim. I don't have the time to pour in for one game.

I've always liked rF. But the only thing that stops me is, steering wheel. I need a steering wheel!

The only thing that made me stayed with LFS was, it can steer with mouse. Its not much but, it does pretty good for a mouse.

@acid_rulezz - this issue has already taken into consideration.
also they do not have a proper sub section for reporting bugs yet.. but can try posting in their forum if you would like to.

but from the looks of it, its an HDR issue,
if you are using ATI card, then try updating ur driver.

otherwise, you can try toggling between sun occlusion and reflection values..

Only happened when i turn HDR Off and then turn it back On in game. Found the thread regarding this issue in ISI forum, i guess i'll spam there.

I'm using the latest "not even release yet" driver.. maybe that's a problem too.

i have the same prob with hdr too..overexposure and massive drop in fps. I have it off for now till i upgrade new gc or they release a fix

^ have you check your GPU clocks while u playing the game? Mine was stucked on 2D mode clock.. had to OC it on the fly.

why rfactor always involve on those F1 cars? Or the game itself already focus on those? Cause i prefer street racing cars.. not sure whether this game suits it or not..

Definitely not suit your taste. rfactor always about simulation in real circuit.

Juz watch your vid. I am amaze with the day/night cycle and i din saw any kinda drifting away like in NFS Shift 2. how is ur fps n graphic setting? saw ur sign using 5850 as well.

yup...the competition is fierce from the fastest guys to the end of the field. Its so much fun We have 3-4 months for a season and off season we have testing n special events. Even now in beta testing theres a psycho war going on who can adapt to the car and set fastest time

my fps is around 60 with hdr off. yup im on the 5850 eyefinity setup

no no! you got me wrong. in fact i love simulation games. or else i wont devote myself buying a g27 xP. what i meant was i prefer driving cars like gtr, 911 etc etc, and not F1 cars. but most of rfactor vids ive watched involves those F1-type of cars.

currently we r running classic f1 car tho. But the megane mod is very nice as well. It comes with the beta.

for the demo, is the car and track limited? can download others? i dont really like how they choose corvette to tryout though. its too powerful.. though im pretty good at semi-sim racers and i find it abit difficult to master the physics for first few tries lol. at least put some slow cars so it wont scares newbies off

for now thats wut theyre putting. maybe later on they will change the package. I will say the corvette is the best road car theyre putting for the demo. and theyve raced real life in lime rock too.

Even for full time simmers, it takes time to get used to new cars so no shame
